Overview of Auto Earn on Kraken
Auto Earn is an additional feature that enables you to earn crypto on every eligible asset in your account. Your assets will generate rewards through our Staking, Opt-In and USDG rewards programs, which compound over time.
To use Auto Earn, you simply need to select whether you want to earn rewards from all available rewards programs in your region (Staking, Opt-In or USDG rewards programs, or all), across all eligible assets in your account. Once you have activated Auto Earn, your eligible assets will be automatically allocated to the corresponding rewards programs. All Auto Earn programs can be turned off in your account settings.
Assets enabled in Auto Earn are still available to trade (including spot and margin trades on Kraken Pro) or withdraw at any time.
Rewards accrue daily and are paid out to your balance on a weekly basis.
Each asset will earn rewards at its own Annual Percentage Rate (APR). The reward rate is different per asset, and rewards will be paid out in kind. For example, if you are earning on DOT, you will receive your reward in DOT. In addition, any new funds deposited to your account would immediately start generating rewards.
Are there any limits?
You can earn rewards for any eligible asset with a value of more than 1 USD. There is no limit to the amount of rewards that can be earned, however, the total amount of each asset eligible for Rewards is capped.
For example, if the Asset Cap on DOT is 100k DOT, and you have 50k DOT, you will earn rewards on all of your assets. If you have 150k DOT, you will earn on only 100k DOT.

To use Auto Earn:

Ensure your Kraken account is verified to the Intermediate level or above and be in a permitted location.

You may not use Auto Earn if you are a resident or a citizen of a prohibited location.
If Auto Earn is not showing as an option on your account, you may not be eligible.
USDG Rewards begin the moment USDG is added to your account - no activation required. However, to turn on Staking and Opt-In rewards you need to complete the steps below.
On Kraken Web:

Sign in to your Kraken account.

To activate Auto Earn click Manage Auto Earn. Your eligible assets will be shown in the popup screen.

Toggle on the Auto Earn program.
On Kraken Pro Web:

Sign in to your Kraken Pro account and click on the Earn overview page.

To activate Auto Earn click Turn on Auto Earn.

Click Done on the information page. Your eligible assets will begin earning.
Turn on Auto Earn on the Kraken App:

Open the Kraken app and tap the Account button in the top left.

Tap Auto Earn.

Toggle the desired Auto Earn program On.

Once you have enabled Auto Earn you can start earning!
Turn on Auto Earn on the Kraken Pro App:

Open the Kraken Pro app and tap the Earn button.

To activate Auto Earn, tap the Turn on Auto Earn banner.

Agree to the Terms of Service and tap Start earning.

Once you have enabled Auto Earn you can start earning!
When Auto Earn is paused in the balances tab you will see the message: Auto Earn is paused. You’re no longer earning on your assets. Resume earning anytime.
On Kraken Web:

Click Manage Auto Earn on the right side.

Unclick the correspondent Auto Earn programs to turn them off.

Click Turn Off in the pop-up window.

On Kraken Pro Web:

Once signed in, click on Profile followed by Settings.

In the Kraken Auto Earn section toggle the desired Auto Earn program you wish to disable.

Kraken App:

Staking
There are currently no transaction fees for Auto Earn staking or unstaking. Kraken charges a commission of 20% based on the rewards you receive from the network.
The APRs shown are an estimate of the rewards you could receive on the assets you hold, before our commission, and are based on the average staking rewards accrued over past periods. In cases where we are subject to validator commissions, the APRs shown are after such commissions.
Opt-In Rewards
There are currently no fees for allocating assets to Opt-In Rewards programs.
Rewards are generated by allocating your eligible spot balances to our Opt-In Rewards programs.

Participating in Auto Earn staking is not a risk-free endeavor. Individuals should be aware of the following risks.

We stake only a portion of eligible assets on-chain, with the remainder held to ensure adequate liquidity. In the event that insufficient liquidity is available in a particular asset, we may delay the release of assets contributed to Auto Earn under the flexible staking program until after the relevant unbonding period has elapsed, based on the blockchain protocol.

We do not guarantee that you will earn any reward. Changes to blockchain protocols and network behavior may impact rewards. Future rewards may be less than historical rewards, or even drop to zero.
- •
Staking services could be vulnerable to hacks, or an event known as “slashing” can be triggered by malicious actions or technical errors, resulting in a loss of staked funds and subsequent rewards.
We will compensate you for any slashing penalty or nonpayment of staking rewards, unless this nonpayment results from your actions, network maintenance, a bug, a hack, or in certain other rare situations. For a full list of circumstances, please refer to our Terms of Service.
You retain ownership of each eligible asset that is staked, and such assets remain your property while staked.
