Requirements
- In order to use the Kraken app, you will need to verify your account to Intermediate or Pro level. Residents in the USA can also make use of our Express verification option.
- The app is available in all regions except Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Cuba, Iran, Japan, North Korea and Syria. This restriction is based on the registered address of your Google Play or Apple App Store account and is not related to the address registered on your Kraken account.
- Please ensure you are using at least Android version 8.0 or iOS version 13.

Using the app
Add your credit card, debit card or connect your online banking
- Click on the Account icon and select Payment methods.
- Depending on your account eligibility:
- Select Add a credit or debit card. Input your card number; double check the billing address is correct; add the expiry date and enter the security code.
- Select Online Banking by Trustly. Locate your bank and input your banking username and password to establish the connection.
- Once your card or bank account is saved, it can be accessed directly from the Pay with menu when completing your purchase.

Digital wallet purchases

Visa and Mastercard
- Our credit and debit card payment option is currently only available in Euros. All purchases will default to Euro when purchasing with your card.

How to Buy
To purchase a cryptocurrency using your cash balance, your debit or credit card, ACH online banking or digital wallet:
- Click on the Action icon. Select Buy crypto with cash. Locate the cryptocurrency you would like to purchase and click on it.

- Click on Pay with and select from your available payment methods.
- Then input the amount you would like to spend. Before you Swipe to confirm, you can review the asset volume being purchased; the payment method; quoted asset price and fees.
- You can click on the info icon to see the breakdown of the fees. The Kraken fee is applied to all transactions, but the Processing fee is only applicable when using a payment card or ACH online banking.

- If everything looks right, you can swipe to complete your purchase.

How to Sell
To sell your cryptocurrency and credit the cash into your account balance, you will need to locate the asset from your account balance.
- Click on the Action icon. Select Sell crypto for cash. Locate the cryptocurrency you would like to sell and click on it.

- Input the volume you would like to sell (you can toggle between cash value and crypto volume). The cash will be added to your balance in the default currency you have saved on the Kraken app. If you want to receive the cash in a different currency, you will need to change this on your Account settings before completing the transaction.
- Before you Swipe to confirm, you can review the asset volume being sold; the amount and currency to be received and fees.

- If everything looks right, you can swipe to complete your sale.

How to Convert
Our convert feature allows you to change between any crypto and cash combination. This includes cash to cash, crypto to crypto, as well as cash to crypto.
- Click on the Action icon and select Convert.

- Click on the from asset to select from any of your existing account balances, then input the value or volume.
- Select any of our available paired assets in the to field.
- Before you Swipe to confirm, you can review the amount and currency to be received, the asset volume being sold and fees.
- If everything looks right, you can swipe to complete your sale.

Edit or delete your payment card
Once your card information is stored, it's not possible to access and edit. If you need to make changes to the information, you will first need to delete the card and add it again with the updated information.
- Click on the Account icon and select Payment methods.
- Locate the card you would like to remove and swipe left. On the prompt, confirm if you would like to remove the card.
- If you get an error, you will need to disable your Global Settings Lock.
Please note that you can only add three payment cards within a 30 day rolling period. Deleting saved cards will not reset this limit, so be mindful of this before removing any of your saved card details.
Delete your connected online bank account
- Click on the Account icon and select Payment methods.
- Locate the bank account you would like to remove and swipe left. On the prompt, confirm if you would like to remove the online bank account.
- If you get an error, you will need to disable your Global Settings Lock.
Locating your balances and transaction history
To view your balances and asset collection, click on the Pie icon. You can toggle between cash value or crypto asset holdings.
Your transaction history will provide you with a full summary of your transaction activity.

Cash and crypto deposits
- Click on the Action icon and select Deposit.
- Search for your desired currency to deposit.
- Make sure to follow the instructions carefully.
Availability of certain deposit options will depend on your verified country of residence.
Cash and crypto withdrawals
- Click on the Action icon and select Withdraw.
- Select the currency from your available balances.
- Follow the instructions and input the withdrawal information. This will be saved for the next time you want to withdraw funds.
- Add the amount you would like to withdraw and click review.
- If everything looks right, you can swipe to complete your withdrawal.
Availability of certain withdrawal methods will depend on your verified country of residence.
Supported currency pairs
You can buy, sell and convert any asset to any other asset. Please note the following exceptions:
- There are some geographic restrictions which may affect the assets that are available in your verified country of residence.
- Cash-to-Cash pairs are not available in the USA.
- ETH2.S-ETH is not available.
- Newly listed coins may have a delay of a few days before becoming available.
- Buying, selling and converting any asset to any other asset is not available on the Kraken Pro app or the Kraken Terminal.
