Below is a summary of all the fees we do and do not charge at Kraken.com. These are different from the fees on Kraken Futures.

Please note, there are no fees for opening or maintaining a Kraken account; fees are only applied when you utilize services on the platform.

Funding fees make up for the costs associated with us accepting deposits or sending withdrawals.

When you trade on Kraken Pro, Kraken is matching buy and sell orders between clients. Trading fees are applied only when an order is executed. (Fully or partially)

Fees vary based on your 30-day trading volume, as well as if your order is a maker or taker order.

If you trade using margin, additional margin opening and rollover fees apply. These fees are separate from standard trading fees and are displayed before you place a margin trade.

    When you buy, sell, or convert cryptocurrencies or fiat on Kraken, fees apply. These include:

    Trading Fees: Kraken charges a fixed trading fee, which is waived for Kraken+ members on trading volume up to $10,000 per month (details below).

    Payment Fees: Additional fees may apply depending on your chosen payment method, such as using a credit/debit card, ACH transfer, or your Kraken account balance.
    For small balance conversions using the “Convert Small Balances” feature, a fixed 3% fee applies to amounts below the minimum order size.

    Spread: When using Kraken’s Instant Buy/Sell Services, including custom and recurring purchases, the price you see includes a spread, the difference between the market rate and the rate you receive. This spread ensures price certainty at the time of order execution.
    Kraken may retain any excess spread from a transaction. Please note that the spread may vary for similar transactions. The size of the spread varies based on factors such as: market volatility, asset type, order size and type, Kraken VIP status, and overall account activity.

    Kraken+ is our premium subscription service offering zero-fee trading on Buy, Sell, Convert, and Recurring purchases up to $10k per month in major currencies (USD, GBP, CAD, AUD, EUR, CHF). See our Kraken+ guide for more information.

    This benefit applies only to trades made through the Buy, Sell, or Convert features on the Kraken app or web, and does not include Spot, Futures, API, or OTC trades on Kraken Pro

    Note: While trading fees are waived, spreads and card processing fees still apply.

    Currently, stock trading is only available to U.S. clients in specific states.

    Kraken offers commission-free trading for stocks and ETFs.

    Kraken applies recovery fees based on the complexity of the case, with costs varying depending on the type of deposit error. The most frequent recovery types are detailed in Crypto assets deposit recovery.

    All fees are communicated to the user before initiating the recovery, and funds may either be credited to the Kraken account or refunded externally, depending on the nature of the recovery. Users are encouraged to carefully verify deposit details before transacting to avoid unnecessary delays and additional costs.
