This guide will walk you through how to check your current backup status or delete your backup.
Want to confirm your iCloud backup status? Simply follow these steps:
Open your Kraken Wallet app and navigate to Settings.
On the Settings page, tap on Wallets & backups.
Look for the Backup up with iCloud row near the top of the screen. A green checkmark means that you successfully backed up your Secret Recovery Phrase with iCloud.
Before deleting your iCloud backup, please ensure that you have written down your 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase and stored it in a safe and secure place.
If you lose your Secret Recovery Phrase and can't access your Kraken Wallet, then there is no way to recover your wallet – your assets are gone forever.
To delete your backup, follow these steps:
Open your Kraken Wallet app and navigate to Settings.
On the Settings page, tap on Wallets & backups.
Tap the Backed up with iCloud option, then tap the Delete backup button.
Carefully review the confirmation screen. If you are sure you want to proceed with deleting your backup, then check both boxes and tap the Delete button.
Complete the authorization step, Use Face ID to sign in.
Your backup should now be deleted. You can confirm this by returning to the Settings screen and viewing the status of your iCloud backup.
