Stablecoin Rewards allow eligible clients to earn rewards on supported stablecoins held in their Kraken account. Rewards accrue automatically in the background while your assets remain fully accessible. You can trade, withdraw, or move your stablecoins at any time (no lockups).

New to stablecoins?
A stablecoin is a type of cryptocurrency designed to maintain a steady value, typically pegged 1:1 to a traditional currency like the US dollar or British pound. Unlike most cryptocurrencies, stablecoins aim to avoid large price swings, making them useful for storing value on-chain.

How are Stablecoin Rewards different from bank savings interest?
While both let you earn a return on your holdings, they work differently. Bank savings interest is paid by a bank that lends out your deposited funds. Stablecoin Rewards are generated through the economics of each stablecoin's ecosystem — such as reserve yields or protocol mechanisms — and are distributed to eligible holders on Kraken. Your stablecoins are not lent out, and rewards are paid in the same stablecoin you hold. Stablecoin Rewards are not bank deposits and are not covered by deposit insurance programs such as FDIC or FSCS.

USDG is a stablecoin issued by Paxos Digital Singapore Pte. Ltd. (PDS), and aims to maintain the price of 1 USD per 1 USDG. USDG can be deposited via several networks, it can also be purchased using Instant Buy, or our spot markets on Kraken Pro.

How do Stablecoin Rewards work for USDG?

As long as you hold USDG in your Kraken account, and have Stablecoin Rewards enabled, you will automatically earn USDG paid directly into your existing balance.

USDC is a stablecoin issued by Circle, and aims to maintain the price of 1 USD per 1 USDC. USDC can be deposited via several networks, it can also be purchased using Instant Buy, or our spot markets on Kraken Pro.

How do Stablecoin Rewards work for USDC?

As long as you hold USDC in your Kraken account, and have Stablecoin Rewards enabled, you will automatically earn USDC paid directly into your existing balance.

Ethena USDe is a synthetic dollar issued by Ethena. USDe is backed with crypto assets and corresponding short future positions and supports its peg stability through the use of delta hedging derivative positions against protocol-held backing assets. USDe can be deposited via the Ethereum Network, it can also be purchased using Instant Buy, or our spot markets on Kraken Pro.

tGBP is a British pound sterling stablecoin issued by BCP Technologies. Each token is 1:1 backed by reserves held at UK-regulated financial institutions and is fully redeemable 1:1 for GBP at anytime. tGBP can be deposited via the Ethereum Network, it can also be purchased using Instant Buy, or our spot markets on Kraken Pro.

Yes! Simply enable Stablecoin Rewards, and any eligible asset will start accruing rewards. There is no lockup period or extra steps.

Yes. Supported stablecoins remain fully accessible, you can trade or withdraw at any time.

You can hold and earn rewards on any amount of eligible stablecoins. There is no minimum holding period required to earn rewards.

The Stablecoin Rewards program is a loyalty initiative fully funded by Kraken, created to encourage users to hold their stablecoins with us and explore our services. Your assets are entirely under your control, and we only act on them based on your explicit instructions. We retain the right to modify or end the Stablecoins Rewards program at any time, with reasonable notice.

Your account must be verified. If your account has been restricted, you will continue to earn rewards on eligible stablecoin balances, however you may not be able to access these rewards while your account remains restricted.

Geographic restrictions apply. You can check your eligibility for Stablecoin Rewards under your country listed here. If Stablecoin Rewards is not showing as an option for your account, you may not be eligible.

Rewards below five decimal places will only display on exported ledger history, since the Kraken platform truncates to five decimal places.
