Business account with Pro limits
Open a business account with Pro limits if you would like to trade for business purposes or on behalf of a business entity. With a business account you will enjoy the following benefits:
The estimated processing time is five days. To speed up processing, please provide all documents that are requested in the application form. Verification times can increase pending any additional information or documentation that may be requested by our team. During periods of high demand, processing times can be slowed down considerably. If you experience a delay, it doesn't necessarily mean there is something wrong with your application.

How to apply:

How do I apply for a business account with Pro limits?

    Select Sign up in the upper righthand corner of the page.

    Next, click on the Business tab.

    Then, fill out your new account details, and click on the Create account button.

    An activation message will be sent to your email inbox. You can use the purple Activate account button, or the 6-digit 2FA code found at the bottom of the email.

    Once your account is activated, you must secure your account by adding at least one form of Sign-In Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

    After adding 2FA, navigate to the Home page. Then click Verify identity.

    Select Verify under Pro (Account features and limits) to access the application form.

    You can save your application at the bottom of the form if you would like to return to it later. To access it later, repeat Step 6 by clicking the Verify identity button.

    Fill out the required information in each section.

    Once you have completed a section, you will see a green checkmark next to the section title, which indicates that the section is complete. Only once you have completed all of the sections of the application will you be able to submit your application.

    Once you have entered all of the required information and included the necessary documentation, hit Submit.
Is a business account with Pro limits right for me?
A business account with Pro limits is designed for those who would like to trade for business purposes or on behalf of a business entity. If you would like to fund your Kraken account from your business bank account, or a business crypto wallet, then a business account could be right for you. Bank deposits and withdrawals can only be transferred to and from a business bank account registered under the business name and not in your personal name. If you would like to transfer funds to and from your personal bank account, while still enjoying many of the benefits that come with a business account, then a Personal account with Pro limits may be right for you.
Trading fees: Trading fees are the same for Business and Personal accounts, but Kraken’s discount schedules reward frequent and high-volume activity.
Funding requirements: Bank deposits and withdrawals can only be transferred to/from a business bank account registered under the same business name.
Crypto deposits and withdrawals may only come from or go to external wallets possessed by your business. As Kraken is not a wallet service, crypto funding should not involve a third party. (ex. business client wallets)

Which types of corporate entities can open a business account at Kraken?
Various corporate entity types can open a business account at Kraken. Some of those types include: 
Can I open a business account for an Australian Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF)?
Yes, you can open a business account for an SMSF. When applying for a business account, please include a self-certified copy of your SMSF trust deed. You can upload the trust deed as a form of Corporate Formation Document.
Can I open an account if I operate my business under a DBA or trade name?
Yes, you can open an account if you do business under a DBA or trade name. During the application process you will have an opportunity to supply your company's registered name along with your DBA or trade name. When submitting the required documentation, please also include legal documents that allow you to operate under your DBA or trade name.

What business documents are required?
To verify your business account, you will be required to submit general business information (i.e. name of the entity, registration number, registration date, registered and operating address) as well as the following documents:

Please note that corporate documentation may vary significantly depending on the country of incorporation. To ensure that you submit the right documents, please reference the information provided below. Additional documentation may be requested during the application process.
What documents are required for each beneficial owner or account accessor?
In addition to the required business documents, you will also be asked to provide personal identifiable information (i.e. name, address, email address, phone number, SSN) and personal verification documents for:

    a) If your company is registered in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland or Italy, identify any individuals that own 25% or more shares, equity or voting rights of the business entity.b) If your company is registered in any other jurisdiction, identify any individuals that own 10% or more shares, equity or voting rights of the business entity.

    Any individuals that maintain significant managerial control, including any individual who directly or indirectly holds the rights to appoint or remove a majority of the board or overall operations over the business entity (CEO, CFO, Owner or equivalent position).

    Any individuals that are the trustee, beneficiaries, settlor / protector (as applicable) of a trust or the members of a firm that exercise significant control over the company.

    Any individuals who will access the account.
What is a valid Corporate Formation document?
A valid Corporate Formation Document is a key piece of documentation that was issued upon the successful registration of your company with the regulatory body in the country of registration.
What is a valid Share Registry document?
A valid Share Registry document displays full shareholder structure and is issued by a regulatory body. Depending on the type of business, it could be a corporate document displaying full ownership of the shares issued by the company or it may mention a sole member / sole proprietorship and show the name of the owner.
What is a valid Proof of Business Operating Address (POBOA) document?
A valid Proof of Business Operating Address (POBOA) document contains the legal name and the physical address of the company (i.e. the place where the day-to-day business takes place) and is dated less than three months from the date of submission. We do not accept P.O. Box addresses from any country.
POBOA documents include:
  • Business bank statement
  • Credit card statement
  • Lease agreement
  • Utility bill
  • Registered lease/rent document 
  • Property ownership title deed registered in the name of the institution, duly stamped and signed
Why does Kraken require these documents to open a business account?
In order to operate as a regulated crypto exchange in a wide array of jurisdictions, we are required to ask for key documents and information from our clients. We must keep these documents on file for each of our clients that opens a business account at Kraken in order to comply with these regulations.
What are “Reselling Services”?
Reselling Services include any type of service where a business offers to buy and sell cryptocurrencies on behalf of any 3rd party.
What is “Source of Funds” (SOF)?
We are required to know the source of any funds that are added to a business account at Kraken. The SOF indicates how the funds were originally generated.

How long will it take my business account to get verified?
Due to current volumes, your application may take two weeks or more to process.

Can I use my company credit or debit card to fund my Kraken Business account?
Yes, you can use your company credit or debit card to fund your Business account with Pro limits. Please note that standard credit and debit card transaction limits apply. Please checkout our Credit & Debit Card FAQ to learn more.
Can I transfer funds between my Kraken business account and my Kraken personal account?
No, you cannot transfer funds between your Kraken business and personal accounts.
I already verified my personal account. Can I change it to a business account?
If you have a personal account that has already been verified, you may be able to convert it to a business account if you have no transaction history on the account. To request an account conversion, please submit a request to our Support team.
What if I accidentally applied for a business account but I meant to apply for a personal account (or vice-versa)? Can I go back and change my application type?
If you mistakenly applied for the wrong account type (i.e. you applied for a personal account but would like to apply for a business account instead, or vice-versa) you may be able to convert your account to the correct type if you have no transaction history on the account. To request an account conversion, please submit a request to our Support team.
