Overview of ETH Restaking on Kraken

EIGEN rewards for restaked ETH have ended. Kraken is automatically moving restaked ETH into bonded ETH staking, so you’ll keep earning the bonded ETH rate with no action needed. Australia and the UAE were moved first on October 21st, and other regions will follow at a later date.

EigenLayer has ended EIGEN rewards for restaked ETH, so ETH Restaking no longer earns extra rewards. Kraken is retiring the ETH Restaking strategy and automatically moving restaked ETH into bonded ETH staking.

What this means for you

  • No action is needed. The migration is automatic, and there is no opt-out.

  • You’ll earn the bonded ETH rate, with no gap in rewards.

  • Any unclaimed EIGEN rewards will be claimed.

  • Bonded ETH staking removes the additional smart contract risk from EigenLayer and EigenLayer’s extra 7-day unbonding period. Standard ETH staking queues still apply when you unstake.
