Understanding your FCM Report (Daily Statement)

Last updated: June 15, 2026

Kraken Derivatives US issues statements on days where there is activity in your account. This includes trading activity, administrative fees, and profits / losses from positions held past the close of that day's trading session. Kraken Derivatives US also issues monthly statements for all accounts with balances.

This will only have an entry if you held a position past the close of that day's trading session. If you are in a position at the close, the statement will show the amount of equity in that open position.

Clients trading CME-listed contracts will typically see No Open Trade Equity unless holding a position past the session close. Clients trading perpetual futures may see Open Trade Equity more regularly given the 24/7 nature of those contracts.

This section will give an overview of your balance for that day's trading session.

  • Beginning Balance is the balance in your account at the start of that day's trading session

  • Activity includes the net total of profits, losses, and administrative fees through that trading session

  • Ending Balance is the net result of Beginning Balance plus or minus Activity

  • Ledger refers to your cash balance

  • Open Trade refers to any profit or loss from a position that is open at the close of that day's trading session

  • Total is the net result of Ledger plus or minus Open Trade

  • Net Liquidating Value is the net result of the ledger balance plus or minus results of Open Trade, converted to USD

This section itemizes activity in your account from that day's trading session. On the left-hand side, you will see the futures contracts traded in your account, along with clearing fees and administrative fees (if applicable):

  • Exchange Fees is the total of fees charged by the instrument's Exchange. For CME-listed contracts (e.g. MES), the exchange is the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. For Bitnomial-listed perpetual futures, the exchange is Bitnomial Exchange.

  • NFA Fees are the total fees charged by the National Futures Association

  • Funding Rate (perpetual futures only) — funding payments are aggregated and settled as a single daily cash adjustment. Reflected as a separate line item in your daily statement.

Futures and spot margin trading involves substantial risk and is not suitable for everyone. You may lose all or more than the initial investment, exceeding the value of collateral deposited with the firm to open and maintain the position. You may be required to provide additional collateral on short notice or no notice, and you may remain responsible for any deficiency after liquidation and collateral application. Trading should be undertaken only with risk capital, funds that can be lost without jeopardizing one's financial security or lifestyle, and only by those who can afford such losses. While leverage can increase potential returns, it also significantly increases risk. Leverage available may vary by asset. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. Availability of spot margin trading through Kraken Derivatives US is subject to certain limitations and eligibility criteria. View Risk Disclosure Statement.
