NinjaTrader x Kraken FAQ

Kraken will leverage NinjaTrader’s FCM license to offer margin and futures in the US to Kraken clients, along with NinjaTrader’s existing US retail futures trading platform. Kraken clients will benefit from the ability to trade these products in the US under CFTC regulation. These products are collectively referred to as Kraken Derivatives US. 

If you are an existing NinjaTrader client, you can also create a Kraken Pro account to access Kraken Derivatives US.

FAQ

To begin trading Kraken Derivatives US, unlock trading directly from your Kraken Pro account. You will need a verified Kraken account and a funded Kraken Derivatives US account.

Kraken Derivatives US offers US margin and futures for eligible US clients. For an overview of the US retail margin product, see Getting started with US margin trading.

Founded in 2003, NinjaTrader, LLC offers  a trusted platform for over 1.8 million professional futures traders. Ninjatrader Clearing, LLC is a Futures Commission Merchant registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and with the National Futures Association (NFA). 

NinjaTrader operates as a standalone platform under the Kraken suite of products, leveraging Kraken's scale to reach a broader global client base. You can continue to use NinjaTrader just as you do today, while we focus on unlocking growth opportunities for our clients, including through expanded trading opportunities across margin and futures.

This acquisition strengthens Kraken’s position as an always-on technology platform. Sophisticated traders drive liquidity, demand cutting-edge tools and move rapidly across asset classes. This transaction better positions Kraken to deliver on those needs, reinforcing its position as a leading financial technology platform.

There will be no change to your existing NinjaTrader account. You can hold accounts on both Kraken Pro and NinjaTrader.  If you want to trade on Kraken Pro with your NinjaTrader account balance, you will need to withdraw funds from your NinjaTrader account and deposit them into your Kraken Pro account.
