Free stablecoin conversions

On Kraken and Kraken Pro, you can convert between USD and supported stablecoins, USDC and USDG, at a 1:1 rate on Kraken. This means there is no spread or conversion fee: 500 USDC in equals exactly 500 USD out, and the same applies to USDG.

These conversions are available to all Kraken clients through the following methods:

    The Convert trade option on the Kraken mobile app

    The Convert option on Kraken Pro web and mobile app

How to convert

    Sign in to your Kraken account.

    On the right-hand side in the buy crypto widget, select the Convert tab.

    Select the asset you want to spend (ex. USD) and the asset you want to receive (ex. USDG).

    Enter the amount you'd like to convert.

    Click Review to check the details.

    If everything looks satisfactory, click Confirm to submit the conversion.

    Sign in to your Kraken account on the Kraken App.

    Tap the purple Trade button, then select Convert.

    Select the asset you want to spend (ex. USD) and the asset you want to receive (ex. USDG).

    Enter the amount you'd like to convert.

    Tap Continue to review the conversion details.

    If everything looks satisfactory, tap Confirm to submit the conversion.

    Sign in to Kraken Pro.

    From the navigation panel on the left-hand side, go to the Portfolio page.

    Scroll down to your balances, and find your USD or supported stablecoin balance and tap the three-dot menu on the right.

    Select Convert.

    Select the To currency, this would be USD or the supported stablecoin you’d like to convert to.

    Enter the amount and click Review.

    If the details look correct, click Confirm.

    Sign in to the Kraken Pro App.

    Go to the Portfolio tab.

    Tap your Main wallet, then find your USD or supported stablecoin balance, and tap on it.

    Tap Convert.

    Select the To currency, this would be USD or the supported stablecoin you’d like to convert to.

    Enter the amount and click Review.

    If the details look correct, click Confirm.

No. These conversions are processed at a 1:1 rate with no spread and no conversion fee.

Yes. While viewing your balances on the Portfolio page in Kraken Pro web, tap the three-dot menu next to your USD, USDC, or USDG balance and select Convert.

On the Kraken Pro App, from the Portfolio tab select USD or a supported stablecoin. Then, tap Convert.

    USDC: You can still convert beyond the $250,000 daily limit, but a standard trading fee will apply to amounts over the limit.

    USDG: You will not be able to complete additional conversions in that direction until the limit resets.

No. These limits apply only to conversions made through the Buy Crypto widget, or convert trade options in Kraken or Kraken Pro. Automatic conversions from incoming deposits are not affected.
