What this document is

Proof of business address is a document that confirms where your business is located. It is used to verify that the address you have provided on your application is accurate and corresponds to a real, active location associated with your business.

This might be your registered office address, your principal place of business, or the address at which your operations are based. What matters is that the document clearly links your business name to a physical address and that it has been issued recently enough for us to be confident the information is current.

Why we ask for this

Verifying the address of a business is a standard part of the corporate onboarding process. It helps us confirm that the business has a genuine physical presence and is operating at the location stated on the application. It also supports the broader identity verification process required under US federal regulations.

A business address that cannot be verified is one of the more common reasons applications are delayed. Submitting a clear, current document at the outset saves time for everyone.

What your document must show

The document you submit must clearly display all of the following:

Required information

Details

Business name

The exact legal or trading name of the business, matching what appears on your application.

Full business address

The complete address including street, city, state, and zip code.

Document date

The document must be dated within the last 90 days. Documents older than this will not be accepted.

Issuing institution or authority

The name of the bank, utility provider, or government authority that issued the document.

A note on virtual offices and registered agents

If your business uses a virtual office or a registered agent address rather than a physical premises, please be aware that some document types may not reflect this address in the usual way. If you are unsure whether your address situation is straightforward, contact our onboarding support team before submitting so we can advise on what will work.

Acceptable documents

Any of the following will be accepted, provided they include all of the required information listed above and are dated within the last 90 days:

  • Utility bill in the business name, for example gas, electric, water, or internet
  • Business bank statement showing the business name and address
  • IRS correspondence or federal tax notice addressed to the business
  • State or local government letter addressed to the business
  • Signed commercial lease or office rental agreement
