Documentation requests for a Live Account

After submitting an application for a live account, our support team may request details regarding your income, employment, or a Full Time Trader Statement before your application can be approved.
Clarifying your source of income
If you are asked to clarify the source of your income after submitting your live account application, this is generally done to confirm that the account will be funded with risk capital.
The requested documentation can be submitted by responding to the email from our support team, with the document(s) attached. Acceptable formats include written text and PDFs.

If you are employed, provide details on the name of your employer(s) and the nature of their business.

If you are self-employed, provide details on the business(es) you own.
- •
If you derive your income from investments, provide details on the nature of those investments.
- •
If you derive your income from a retirement fund (pension, 401k, Social Security, etc), provide details on which source your income comes from.
Note: Inheritance, allowance, savings, etc. are not considered sources of income.
Please include a full income amount in your letter. No paystub or supporting documentation is required, clearly providing these details in text on your NinjaTrader Account Dashboard will suffice.
Meeting all of these requirements will help prevent delays in processing your application. Once submitted, please allow 1–2 business days for our New Accounts team to review your uploaded document.

Verifying Employment Details

What is a Full-Time Trader Statement?
When an applicant identifies as a "trader," our support team is required to gather additional information to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. In the text box, please verify the following:

What asset class(es) you currently trade to derive your income.

I (Will/Will Not) Trade My Own Funds in This Account.
- •
Others (Will/Will Not) Participate in Profits or Losses of This Account.
Individuals engaged in these activities typically must register with the National Futures Association (NFA). Under NFA Bylaw 1101, brokerage firms like NinjaTrader are obligated to ensure they do not conduct business with individuals who are required to be registered but are not.
Please ensure that your clarification is clearly written and includes confirmations on all the points listed above. Vague or unclear responses will not be accepted for your application.
