Market Alerts

Price alerts

Price alerts allow traders to be notified when any market reaches their specified price level. These alerts can be set in either of our Web or Mobile interfaces, and traders can adjust their settings to be notified in one or both user interfaces via settings on the respective platforms.

Alert Modal

Instructions for adding alerts on both platforms are available below.

  1. 1

Navigate to the Alerts widget. By default in the Advanced view, it will be behind the Order form.

    Alerts widget location

If it’s not there, you can add the Alerts widget by either:

Clicking on Layouts & widgets and toggle Alerts to On:

Or on the top right of any widget, click the three dots > Add Widget > Alerts:

    Alerts Button

Note: Once added, the Alerts widget can be moved to any window.

  2. 2

Before creating an alert, you will need to enable web notifications for your browser. Clicking the Enable button will automatically have your browser ask you to accept these permissions. If you have previously denied permissions, see our Enabling Browser Notifications section below for specific instructions.

  3. 3

Once browser notifications are enabled, you can click Create new alert button to open the Create alert modal. From there you can choose your market, trigger parameters, and price level by typing out a price or using the percentage adjustment buttons to navigate from the market’s current price.

Alternatively, you can right click the chart to pre-set the modal for that pair and price level.

Active alerts will also be visible on the market chart for their assigned market. These alerts can be edited directly on the chart by simply dragging them up & down.

From there you can view your Active and Historical alerts at any time via the Alerts panel. Alerts can be edited or deleted using the three dot menu next to each active alert.

Please note that price alerts for Futures can not currently be set on the app. However, if push notification settings for price alerts are on in the app and you set a Futures price alert via web, you will still receive the alert on mobile, it just won’t link you to the proper markets page as with Spot alerts.

Kraken Desktop offers two ways to set price alerts, which automatically sync across Kraken Pro and our mobile apps, ensuring you stay informed across all devices. This seamless integration keeps your alerts consistent and accessible, no matter where you're trading.

Method #1: Quick alerts

Method1

With "quick creation" enabled within the Chart module settings, simply click on the left side of the price axis to create an alert at that price level. You'll notice, the small yellow triangle signals that an alert will be created upon clicking.

Alerts can be deleted just as seamlessly by holding down CMD or CTRL, and clicking the alert on the price axis.

Method #2: Alerts panel

All of your alerts across markets, whether they're added from Kraken Desktop, Kraken Pro, or our mobile apps, will appear by clicking the "Alerts" button located at the top right of your screen.

Alerts

After clicking this button, a panel will open on the right side where you can add, duplicate, edit, or delete your alerts, all from one convenient list.

Alerts

You'll also notice the Alerts Log, where you can re-add alerts that have been triggered in the past.

Volatility alerts

Volatility alerts on Kraken Pro are built to inform traders of outsized price movements in the markets that they care about. Traders will be notified of volatility (including the percentage price movement in 24 hours and the current price) in markets they have favorited. These alerts can be set up to trigger in either (or both) of our Web or Mobile interfaces via settings on the respective platforms.
