Price Alerts

Price alerts allow Kraken Pro users to be notified when exchange trading, in any market, reaches their specified price level. These alerts can be set in either of our Web or Mobile interfaces, and users can adjust their settings to be notified in one or both user interfaces via settings on the respective platforms.

Instructions for adding alerts on both platforms are available below.

Web
  1. 1

Navigate to the Alerts widget. By default in the Advanced view, it will be behind the Order form.

    Alerts widget location

If it’s not there, you can add the Alerts widget by either:

Clicking on Add Widget and toggle Alerts to On:

    Add Alerts Widget

Or on the top right of any widget, click the three dots > Add Widget > Alerts:

    Order Form Step 1

    Order Form Step 2

Note: Once added, the Alerts widget can be moved to any window.

  2. 2

Before creating an alert, you will need to enable web notifications for your browser. Clicking the Enable button will automatically have your browser ask you to accept these permissions. If you have previously denied permissions, see our Enabling Browser Notifications section below for specific instructions.

  3. 3

Once browser notifications are enabled, you can click Create new alert button to open the Create alert modal. From there you can choose your market, trigger parameters, and price level by typing out a price or using the percentage adjustment buttons to navigate from the market’s current price.

Alternatively, you can right click the chart to pre-set the modal for that pair and price level.

In either case, clicking Create alert will activate the alert.

Mobile
  1. 1

To set a price alert on mobile, first ensure that your push notification settings for Kraken Pro are turned on at a device level (via iOS or Android settings) and within the app. The price alert specific notification setting will be on by default, since you need to set the actual alert yourself to activate them.

Next, navigate to the price alerts modal via either the bell icon in the top right corner of the markets page, or by long-tapping on any open order or market.

Within the alerts modal you can see both your active and historical alerts. You can also make a new alert via the Create new alert button.

From there you can view your Active and Historical alerts at any time via the Alerts panel. Alerts can be edited or deleted using the three dot menu next to each active alert.

Please note that price alerts for Futures can not currently be set on the app. However, if push notification settings for price alerts are on in the app and you set a Futures price alert via web, you will still receive the alert on mobile, it just won’t deeplink you to the proper markets page as with Spot alerts.
