How do I deposit AUD?
This article is for clients using the Kraken interface (
Prevent deposit delays
If required and shown in the deposit instructions, make sure your deposit includes a reference to your Kraken Public account ID which starts with AA and is 16 characters long.
To deposit Australian Dollar (AUD) via Bank Transfer or OSKO to your Kraken account, first check that your account fulfills the requirements

To deposit AUD:

    Sign in to your Kraken account and click Deposit.
    If you do not yet have a Kraken account you can create one here.
    You can also navigate to the Deposit page by clicking on the Transfer tab on the left hand side of your screen.

    If your default currency is set to AUD, then AUD will be displayed automatically. If not you can search for the currency you wish to deposit and click on it.

    Enter the amount you wish to deposit and select your preferred funding provider from the drop-down menu. If you are only shown one option, you can skip this step and continue.

    Decide whether you are depositing via PayID, Bank Transfer/Osko or BSB/Account number. Currently not all Australian banks offer PayID. Note: Deposits for the same amount within a 72 hour period may be put on hold. To avoid this simply add an extra few cents to a deposit. If you have a deposit on hold you can submit a support ticket here.

    Review the About Deposits section. 
    • Various banks have different requirements, so please contact your bank directly for specific instructions on how to complete the deposit.
    • To help your deposit go smoothly, use our deposit checklist before sending any funds.

    Navigate to your online bank to deposit from your account to Kraken. To prevent errors, we suggest copying our bank account details directly to your bank or financial institution. Depositing using PayID

  • Sign in to your bank account.
  • Copy the PayID provided on the Kraken deposit page.
  • Add it to your PayID list on your bank account.
  • Ensure you select PayID: Email Address. 
  • Input the PayID (Email Address).
  • The description/reference field may be left blank if your bank provides one.
  • Initiate a transfer from your bank account using the PayID.
If your bank rejects PayID transfers to Kraken - please try using your bank account number to deposit to Kraken, as outlined below.

Depositing using Bank account number 

  • Sign in to your bank account.
  • Select to initiate a transfer.
  • Copy “Cuscal” into the Account Name/Bank Name Field.
  • Copy the BSB number provided on the Kraken deposit page into the BSB Field.
  • Copy the Account number provided on the Kraken deposit page into the Account Number Field.
  • Copy your Public Account ID provided on the Kraken deposit page into the Description or Reference field. If the description cannot fit you may remove the spaces to make it fit.
  • Enter the amount you wish to send.
