The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is an initiative of the European Union that allows for fast, reliable and cheap e-transfers between bank accounts in the SEPA-zone.
SEPA consists of 36 countries:
- the 27 member states of the European Union,
- the four member states of the European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland),
- Andorra,
- United Kingdom,
- Monaco,
- San Marino,
- Vatican City.
