Kraken Derivatives eligibility requirements for clients in the EEA

This article is for clients residing in the European Economic Area (EEA). If you are located outside of the EEA, please see our articles here.
An account must fulfill both the verification and geographic requirements to unlock Kraken Derivatives.
Verification requirements
Have an account with Kraken that is verified as follows:

Personal clients: Fully verified

Business clients: Business verified and participated in the KYC update.
Other requirements
To ensure that our trading products are suitable for your investment goals and risk tolerance, all new Futures EEA clients must:

Complete an on-platform questionnaire: This assessment helps us understand your knowledge and experience with derivatives.

Provide your Tax Identification Number: Your TIN is necessary for regulatory compliance and to offer you the best trading experience.
If you're an existing client, no action is required at this time. We'll contact you in the coming weeks with more information about the next steps for transitioning to our new regulated entity.
You will receive an email prompting you to complete these steps. Please ensure you complete the questionnaire and provide your TIN by the specified deadline to continue accessing our new products.
