What is Kraken Prop?

Kraken Prop is a proprietary trading program built into Kraken Pro that lets you trade crypto perpetual contracts using funded capital, without risking your own money on funded accounts.

Here's how it works: you purchase an evaluation, prove your trading skills by hitting a profit target while staying within risk limits, and then graduate to a funded account where you keep up to 90% of the profits you generate.

How the Kraken Prop program works

Kraken Prop follows a simple two-stage model:

Stage 1: Evaluation You purchase an evaluation account and trade with a simulated balance. Your goal is to reach the profit target for your plan without violating the risk rules (Maximum Daily Loss and Maximum Drawdown). There is no time limit, take as long as you need.

Stage 2: Funded Account Once you pass your evaluation, you're upgraded to a funded account. You'll need to complete identity verification on Kraken and sign a Funded Trader Agreement. After activation, you trade with real funded capital and can request payouts of your share of the profits.

Kraken Prop offers crypto perpetual contracts across a range of digital assets. All trading happens within Kraken Pro, the same product you already use, through a dedicated Prop section.

  • No personal capital at risk on funded accounts: Trade with funded capital provided through the program.
  • Keep up to 90% of your profits: The default profit split is 80/20 in your favor, with an optional 90/10 upgrade available at the time of purchase.
  • Trade on Kraken Pro: No separate platform needed. Prop accounts live alongside your existing Kraken account and are accessible on both web and mobile.
  • No time limit on evaluations: Pass at your own pace.
  • Multiple account sizes: Plans range from $5,000 to $200,000.

Kraken Prop is available to Kraken users in the US, Netherlands, and France. To purchase an evaluation, you only need basic verification (email and country). To open a funded account, you'll need to complete Kraken's identity verification.
