Notice of Moonriver (MOVR) Migration to Base

The Moonriver (MOVR) token migrated from Polkadot to the Base network. Kraken handled this migration on behalf of all clients, so clients did not need to take any action. The migration was 1:1, MOVR balances were not affected, and the MOVR ticker stayed the same. Trading remained open throughout.

Moonriver (MOVR) moved from Polkadot to the Base network. Kraken migrated client balances automatically at a 1:1 rate, so every MOVR clients held remained one MOVR after the migration. The MOVR ticker did not change.

Clients did not need to bridge tokens, swap anything, or take any other action. For MOVR held on Kraken, the migration was handled for them.

A July 31, 2026 bridging deadline applied to MOVR held in personal wallets, not to MOVR held on Kraken. There was no need to move MOVR off Kraken to complete the migration.

Here is what happened at each stage:

July 21, 2026 at 14:00 UTC: MOVR funding (deposits and withdrawals) was paused. Trading remained open.

July 22 to July 24, 2026: Migration window. MOVR was migrated to MOVR on Base. Funding was re-enabled once the migration was complete.

Clients did not need to do anything to complete this migration. Kraken updated accounts automatically during the migration window.

The MOVR ticker stayed the same, so balances continued to appear as MOVR in clients’ accounts. After the migration, MOVR was the Base version of the token. Polkadot MOVR is no longer supported on Kraken.
