How to deposit Brazilian Real

BRL deposits are not yet available to all clients. If you do not see the BRL option, it is currently unavailable for your account, but will be coming soon!
You can deposit Brazilian Real (BRL) to Kraken via PIX. BRL deposited via PIX will be credited to your account as BRL1 - a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the Brazilian Real.
Deposit BRL on Kraken (kraken.com/c)

On the homepage click the Deposit button.

Under the asset dropdown select BRL.

The deposit method will automatically update to PIX transfers. Click I understand to continue.

Next enter the amount you wish to deposit. You can switch between BRL and USD, by clicking the Currency switcher to see real time conversions in both currencies.

Click Generate PIX code.
PIX code: is the number or QR code that shows who will receive the money in a PIX transaction. You use it to send money from your bank to your Kraken account using PIX.

In a few moments you will see your personalized QR code & PIX code. This will be valid for approximately 10 minutes.
Note: Only deposits from a bank account linked to the your CPF (tax id) will be accepted

Scan the QR code using your mobile device or manually copy the PIX code.
Note: Kraken does not charge a deposit fee for BRL deposits via PIX.

Once you have copied your PIX code, go to your banking/wallet app and complete the PIX deposit.

That’s it! You’ll receive a notification confirming your BRL1 stablecoin credited.
Deposit BRL on Kraken app

Open your Kraken app and tap the Trade button.

Search for BRL using the search bar or select it from the list of available assets.

On the information screen, tap I understand to continue. Learn more about PIX here.

Enter your CPF (tax ID.
Note: Only deposits from a bank account linked to the your CPF (tax id) will be accepted.

Enter the amount you want to deposit and tap Generate PIX code.

The next screen will show you your PIX code, conversion fee and exchange rate.

Copy your PIX code and paste it into your banking app to authorize the deposits.

That’s it! You’ll receive a notification confirming your BRL1 stablecoin credited.
To see your deposits open the Kraken app and go to Portfolio. Here, your BRL1 stablecoin total amount and transaction history will be in the transaction list.
