Kraken fee credits (KFEE)

Kraken fee credits (KFEE) are internal tokens that can only be used to pay for trading fees on our exchange. They are found exclusively on kraken.com and are labeled with the code KFEE or FEE.

Frequently asked questions

We will occasionally offer KFEE to our clients for various reasons.

1,000 KFEE = 10 USD worth of trading fees on the Kraken exchange.

The trade does not need to involve USD.

If you have a KFEE balance, it is automatically used to pay for any trading fees incurred on the Kraken Pro platform. KFEE essentially allows you to trade fee-free up to a certain volume. For example, a trade worth 3,846 USD executed with a 0.26% fee would cost 10 USD. Instead of paying that 10 USD from your USD balance, 1,000 KFEE would be deducted from your KFEE balance.

To redeem a KFEE voucher which has been offered to you, follow these steps:

  1. 3

Hit the Redeem a voucher button in the top-right corner

  2. 4

Enter your Voucher code and click Redeem!

Do you have a voucher and the Redeem button is not appearing?

When you're filling out the Order form on the Trade page of Kraken Pro, click the More options dropdown.

If a purple present icon is showing next to your Estimated fee, this means your fees for this trade will be covered by Kraken Fee Credits (KFEE). You can view your total KFEE amount by hovering over the present icon.

The volume of fee-free trading for a fixed amount of KFEE depends on the percentage of trading fees. Below are some examples:

Fee percentage

Fee-free trade volume per 1,000 KFEE

Highest taker fee (0.40%)

2,500 USD

Highest maker fee (0.25%)

4,000 USD

Lowest taker fee (0.10%)

10,000 USD

Lowest maker fee (0.02%)

50,000 USD

*Note: Maker fees can actually go as low as 0%, but in that situation KFEE wouldn't need to be used.
