NinjaTrader x Kraken FAQ

Kraken will leverage NinjaTrader’s FCM license to offer crypto futures and derivatives in the US to Kraken clients, along with NinjaTrader’s existing US retail futures trading platform. Kraken clients will benefit from the ability to trade crypto futures in the US. Over time we will be able to introduce additional traditional asset classes, such as index, commodity, and contract futures for clients in the U.S. and other markets. Futures trading in the US, will be referred to as Kraken Derivatives US.

If you are a US Kraken client and you already have a NinjaTrader account, you can't currently trade futures on Kraken. We are working to update this and you will be able to do so soon! We will inform you via email once this becomes available to you.  

In the meantime, you can continue your futures trading at account.ninjatrader.com.

To begin trading Kraken Derivatives US, simply join our waitlist. You can do this by following the link provided in our email invitation. Once you're eligible, we’ll send you a notification with next steps so you can start trading.

NinjaTrader will operate as a standalone platform under the Kraken suite of products, leveraging Kraken’s scale to reach a broader global client base. You can continue to use NinjaTrader just as you do today, while we focus on unlocking growth opportunities for our clients, including through expanded trading opportunities for assets like crypto and crypto futures.

This acquisition strengthens Kraken’s position as an always-on technology platform. Sophisticated traders drive liquidity, demand cutting-edge tools and move rapidly across asset classes. This transaction better positions Kraken to deliver on those needs, reinforcing its position as a leading financial technology platform.

There will be no change in the near term. As outlined above, if you are a client of both Kraken and NinjaTrader you will be informed via email once this becomes available. 

Our shared focus will be on unlocking cross-platform growth for our clients, including through expanded trading opportunities for clients, while maintaining separate company operations.
