Flipping a spot position on margin

Availability of margin trading services is subject to certain limitations and eligibility criteria.

Flipping a spot position on margin is currently only available on Kraken Classic. You will not be able to flip a spot position the Kraken Pro site or Kraken Pro app.

You can easily flip your exposure to a currency from “long” to “short,” or “short” to “long.” To do this, simply execute an opposing order using margin with more volume than your existing open position(s).

Suppose you have two “short BTC” positions open, at 1 BTC volume each, but you want to close these positions and go “long BTC,” at 1 BTC volume, on 3x leverage. You can do this by buying 3 BTC using margin, with 3x leverage.
