Where can I use Krak Card?

Once your card is activated you can use it for online payments, subscription payments, in-person shopping, ATM withdrawals - essentially everywhere that Mastercard is accepted.

Krak app offers 400+ assets that you can send to your friends, but initially, not all will be available for card transactions. In your Spend Order settings, unsupported currencies will appear as “Unavailable”.

Setting your Krak card spend order

We spend your assets in the order you set to cover the full amount of a transaction, combining assets if needed. You can reorder and block assets at any time.

To set your spend order:

    Open your Card in the Krak App.

    Under Global Settings, tap Set spend order.

    Arrange your assets in the order you want them to be used.

Primary currency: Your card’s primary currency is GBP for UK clients or Euro for Eurozone clients. We convert your assets to your primary currency when you spend. Refunds and reversals are also paid in your primary currency. If you’re using other assets in a transaction and they fail, we’ll try to complete the payment using your primary balance.

Small balances: Balances under £1 or €1 in your Everyday balance may be skipped when spending as they can’t always be converted.

Block: You can block specific currencies if you don't want to use them to spend. 

Unavailable:  Some assets are unavailable for payments and they’ll appear in the Unavailable section. If that changes, they’re automatically added to the bottom of your spend order and will be available for spending.

Here’s what you need to know about fees when using your Krak Card

Krak lets you hold multiple fiat currencies, like EUR, USD, or GBP, but your card is always denominated in your primary currency (e.g. GBP for UK cardholders, EUR for EU cardholders).

So if you spend abroad while traveling with a GBP card, you’ll be charged the GBP equivalent based on Mastercard’s exchange rate with no fees added by us. If you choose to spend a fiat currency other than your primary currency, we’ll need to convert this so that you can spend. You can read more about fees here. 

    Krak Card purchase was declined by merchant

    If a merchant declines your transaction, you will need to contact the merchant directly.
