Salary Match: Earn More Every Month

Salary Match is a rewards program that pays you cashback every month you receive your salary directly on Krak. The more you hold with us, the bigger your cashback. No lottery, no luck needed – just a percentage of your deposit back in your account, every single month.

It's automatic, transparent, and designed to reward your loyalty.

Your cashback lands at the beginning of the following month.

To celebrate the launch of this new program, we are offering 1% to all clients on eligible salary payments until May 1st. 

After May 1st, your summed balance within the Krak, Kraken, and Kraken Pro determine your earning tier. Each tier earns a different percentage on your monthly salary deposit. See the table for a breakdown:

Example: If you have £/€15,000 on Krak and receive a £/€6,000 salary, you'll earn £45 (0.75% of £6,000).

You can earn Salary Match if you meet these requirements:

• You live in the UK, Germany or Luxembourg
• Your Krak account is fully verified
• Your salary is paid via FPS (Faster Payments Service, UK) or SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area, EU)
• Your salary comes directly from a third party (like your employer)

We’ve implemented limits to ensure the program remains sustainable and equitable for all: 

• Minimum monthly salary: £/€2,500
  • You need at least £/€2,500 per month to qualify. Below that, no cashback applies.
• Maximum eligible deposit: £/€25,000 per month
  • If your salary exceeds £/€25,000, we calculate your cashback on £/€25,000 only.
• Payment count: 4 payments per month
  • If you get more than 4 salary deposits from the same source in one month, we count the largest 4.

Salary Match is automatic. Once your account is eligible, there's nothing you need to do. Here's how it works:

1. Send your Salary: Get paid directly into your Krak account.
2. We spot it automatically: We recognize your salary deposit and calculate your cashback based on your tier.
3. You earn your reward: At the beginning of the following month, your salary match lands in your account. No extra work.

Please note: You can choose the currency you receive your cashback in Settings. This is optional – your salary will earn rewards either way.

You're ready to start earning. Here are your next steps:

1. Check your eligibility: Open the Salary Match section in your Krak app to see if you qualify
2. Send your next salary: Ask your employer to pay you on your Krak account
3. Get your cashback: At the beginning of the next month, watch your reward land automatically

Yes. Unlike a lottery, if your salary qualifies, you get your cashback. As long as you meet the requirements each month, you'll earn your reward automatically.

Yes. If you're paid twice per month (or more), we count up to 4 deposits from the same source per month and combine them for your reward calculation. More deposits = bigger cashback.

At the beginning of the next month. Salary deposits throughout February = salary cashback at the beginning of March. It's consistent and predictable.

No. Salary Match is automatic enrollment. If you're eligible, it just happens – no setup required.

Not right now. At this time opting out of Salary Match is not available. 

Not right now. The minimum is £/€2,500 per month. If your salary grows or you receive bonuses that push you over the threshold, you'll become eligible.

Salary Match is designed for recurring salary deposits. If you receive irregular payments from multiple sources, you might not qualify. We look for consistent, predictable patterns. 

Check above in the “Who’s Eligible for Salary Match?” section of this page. If you're not eligible, it will explain what you need to do.

Any third-party payment that our system recognizes as a salary deposit. This includes deposits from your employer via FPS (UK) or SEPA (EU). Commissions from multiple sources or payments from other people's Krak accounts don't count.

Your tier is based on your balance across Krak, Kraken, and Kraken Pro over the previous 3 months. 

We recalculate your tier monthly. Your new tier applies to the next eligible salary deposit.

After May 1st 2026, it depends on your tier:

• Tier 1 (0.5%) = £30.
• Tier 2 (0.75%) = £45.
• Tier 3 (1%) = £60.

Your app shows your exact earnings before the cashback lands.

Salary Match cashback is classified as marketing incentives. We recommend checking with your local tax authority for how incentives are treated in your region. Krak is not providing tax advice.

Yes. You can receive your cashback in your original currency (GBP/EUR) or as Bitcoin, depending on your preference. You set this up optionally when you configure Salary Match.

That's fine. It will automatically default to your salary currency. You can also change your preference anytime in Settings.

Salary Match is only available in the UK and select EU countries. If you move outside these regions, you'll lose eligibility. We're expanding, so check back if you relocate.

That's fine. Salary Match applies to any eligible recurring salary deposit, regardless of employer. When you start at a new job, as soon as you get 2 months of pay with a consistent pattern, you'll be eligible.
