Getting started with xStocks on Kraken Pro

Kraken offers access to xStocks, tokenized representations of traditional U.S. equities and ETFs. While Kraken does not issue these tokens directly, we make it easy for you to buy, sell, convert, and securely hold them all in one place.

Interested? Follow the steps below to get started.

Before you begin, make sure that:

    You have a verified Kraken account.

  • •

    You are located in an eligible region.

Note: xStocks are distinct from traditional equities and are not available to clients in the United States (U.S.) or U.S. Persons (as defined under Regulation S under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933).

    Go to pro.kraken.com and sign in to your Kraken account.

    Next, head over to your account settings by clicking here, or by clicking the human icon in the top right and then clicking Settings.

    Under Account details you will see a row for xStocks with an Unlock button to the right. Click the Unlock button to begin the xStocks verification process.

    You’ll then be taken to a couple of verification questions. Answer these questions, and click Continue.

    That’s all! If your account is eligible for xStocks, the Unlock button should turn into an Unlocked confirmation, and you may begin trading xStocks.

    Open the Kraken Pro app, sign in if needed.

    Tap the human icon in the top right corner to enter the Account page.

    At the top of the page, under your name, tap View account details.

  4. 4

    Then, you’ll see a row for xStocks trading, with its current status to the right (Locked or Not eligible). If xStocks is “Locked”, simply tap the row to begin verification to unlock xStocks.

    You’ll then be taken to a couple of verification questions. Answer these questions, and click Continue.

    That’s all! If your account is eligible for xStocks, the Unlock button should turn into an Unlocked confirmation, and you may begin trading xStocks.
