Understanding Your Prop Account Dashboard

When you switch to a Prop account in Kraken Pro, you keep the same Kraken Pro trading experience with a few additional widgets. The trading terminal displays a portfolio widget and several data tables specific to that account. Here's what each element shows and how to read it.

The portfolio widget appears on the trading screen and gives you a real-time snapshot of your account health. The fields shown are:

Balance: Your account's cash balance, including all realized gains, losses, and fees. This does not include unrealized P&L from open positions.

Total equity: Your balance plus or minus any unrealized P&L from open positions. This is the real-time measure used to evaluate breach conditions. When you have no open positions, total equity equals balance.

UP&L: Your unrealized profit and loss from all currently open positions. This value is positive (green) when your open positions are in profit and negative (red) when they are at a loss. When you have no open positions, this shows 0.

Daily loss limit: The equity level at which your account would breach the Maximum Daily Loss (MDL) rule. If your total equity drops to or below this number at any point during the trading day, your account is breached. This value resets daily at 00:30 UTC.

For example, on a $10,000 account with a 3% MDL, this would show $9,400 (assuming no prior gains or losses that day), meaning your equity cannot fall below $9,400.

Drawdown limit: The equity level at which your account would breach the Maximum Drawdown (MDD) rule. If your total equity drops to or below this number at any point, your account is breached. Unlike the daily loss limit, this does not reset.

Used margin: The amount of margin currently committed to your open positions.

Available margin: The amount of margin you have available to open new positions.

Margin level %: The ratio of your total equity to your used margin, expressed as a percentage. A higher margin level means more room before margin-related issues. When you have no open positions, this shows 0.00%.

Available for payout: (funded accounts only) The amount of profit currently eligible for withdrawal. This field appears on funded accounts only and reflects your share of profits after the profit split.

Your account status is reflected in the terminal interface:

  • Active accounts have all trading functionality enabled.
  • Passed evaluation accounts show trading disabled, with a prompt to begin the upgrade process.
  • Closed accounts are view-only for 7 days.

For a full breakdown of each status, see Prop Account States Explained.
