When you borrow through Flexline, repayment is required at the end of the loan duration, although the loan can be terminated at any time. Early termination includes the original principal plus half of the remaining interest pending for the loan.
Remember, if you hold a loan to maturity, it will automatically be repaid from funds in your main wallet on the end date - no action is necessary on your part. However there may be a fee associated with converting assets into the loan currency if there is insufficient quantity.
Flexline loans can be terminated before their scheduled end date, but doing so may result in significant fees depending on the loan’s term, interest rate, and size relative to the rest of your portfolio.
The early termination fee is equal to fifty percent of the remaining interest of the loan, assuming it was held to maturity. For long-dated loans, especially those with high leverage, this fee can be substantial.
If early termination fees cause your equity to fall below required or maintenance margin levels, Kraken may automatically liquidate assets in your account to cover the outstanding balance.
It is important to exercise extreme caution before terminating a loan early, especially if the loan is for a long duration (12-24 months). Be sure you understand the implications on your portfolio leverage before termination. If you need assistance doing so, please contact Kraken Support.
Click on Loans from the left-side panel.
Then, click My loans on the top-left of the Loans page.
Now you’ll be able to see several panels containing important information about your loans. To find the loan you’d like to terminate, look under the Active loans section.
On the right hand side, you’ll see X symbols for each of your loans. Click this X to begin the termination process.
After clicking the X symbol, a window will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. Here you can review the termination details, then terminate your loan by manually typing TERMINATE into the text box and clicking the Terminate button.
Review the repayment amount, which includes principal plus interest.
Confirm repayment to settle the loan. Once completed, the loan will move to your Closed loans list.
Tap on the More button in the bottom-right corner of the Kraken Pro App. Then, tap Loans in the Tools & more section.
At the top of the Loans page, tap on My loans.
Now you’ll be able to see several panels containing important information about your loans.To find the loan you’d like to terminate, look under the Active loans section.
Tap on the loan you’d like to terminate. You will then be presented with the loan information, and a button to terminate the loan. Tap the Terminate loan button.
Then, review the termination details. If everything looks correct, Swipe to terminate.
