The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is an initiative of the European Union that allows for fast, reliable and cheap Euro (EUR) transfers between bank accounts in the SEPA-zone.

SEPA consists of 36 countries:

  • the 28 member states of the European Union,

  • the four member states of the European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland),

  • Andorra,

  • Monaco,

  • San Marino,

  • Vatican City.
