Følgende Python-kode implementerer en kommandolinje API-klient for vår børsens WebSocket API v1. Koden kan brukes som en frittstående API-klient, eller kan kalles fra andre tolkede eller kompilerte programmeringsspråk (Bash, C++, etc.).
Standard Python WebSocket-bibliotek (websocket-client) kreves for WebSocket-nettverket, men ingen andre API-biblioteker/moduler er nødvendige.
WebSocket API-kommandolinjeklienten kan også lastes ned som krakenws.py.
Alle offentlige markedsdatafeeds (ticker, book, spread, ohlc, trade), private kontoadministrasjonsfeeds (openOrders og ownTrades), og handelsendepunkter (addOrder, cancelOrder, cancelAll) støttes.
For de private feeds/endepunktene må en WebSocket-autentiseringstoken oppgis ved å hente tokenet fra REST API GetWebSocketsToken-endepunktet, og deretter kopiere/lime inn token-verdien i en tekstfil kalt WS_Token (i samme katalog/mappe som kommandolinje API-klienten).
