Auto Earn is an additional feature that enables you to earn crypto on every eligible asset in your account. Your assets will generate rewards through our Staking, Opt-In and Stablecoin Rewards program, which compound over time.
To use Auto Earn, you simply need to select whether you want to earn rewards from all available rewards programs in your region (Staking, Opt-In or USDG rewards programs, or all), across all eligible assets in your account. Once you have activated Auto Earn, your eligible assets will be automatically allocated to the corresponding rewards programs. All Auto Earn programs can be turned off in your account settings.
Assets enabled in Auto Earn are still available to trade (including spot and margin trades on Kraken Pro) or withdraw at any time.
Rewards accrue daily and are paid out to your balance on a weekly basis.
Each asset will earn rewards at its own Annual Percentage Yield (APY). The reward rate is different per asset. In addition, any new funds deposited to your account would immediately start generating rewards.
Are there any limits?
You can earn rewards for any eligible asset with a value of more than 1 USD. There is no limit to the amount of rewards that can be earned, however, the total amount of each asset eligible for Rewards is capped.
For example, if the Asset Cap on DOT is 100k DOT, and you have 50k DOT, you will earn rewards on all of your assets. If you have 150k DOT, you will earn on only 100k DOT.

Ensure your Kraken account is verified and you're in a permitted location.
You may not use Auto Earn if you are a resident or a citizen of a prohibited location.
If Auto Earn is not showing as an option on your account, you may not be eligible.
To turn on Staking, Opt-In, or Stablecoin rewards you need to complete the steps below.
Sign in to your Kraken account.
Then, click the Auto Earn button in the top-left corner.
Each Auto Earn program will be displayed, you can use the toggles on the right side to enable them.
Click the profile icon in the top-right corner, then click Settings.
Scroll down to the Rewards section, and enable your desired Auto Earn programs.
Turn on Auto Earn on the Kraken App:
Open the Kraken app and tap the Account button in the top left.
Tap Earn settings.
Toggle the desired Auto Earn programs On.
Turn on Auto Earn on the Kraken Pro App:
Tap the More button in the bottom-right corner.
Tap your Name at the top of the page.
Tap Earn under the Settings section.
Under the Auto Earn section, toggle the desired Auto Earn program toggles to on.
To pause on Kraken web:
Click your profile picture in the top-right corner.
Click Earn Settings.
Under the Auto Earn programs section, click any Auto Earn program toggles to disable it. It will turn from green to grey.
Click the Turn off button.
To pause on Kraken Pro web:
Click the profile icon in the top-right corner, then click Settings.
Scroll down to the Rewards section, then click the toggle for the Auto Earn program you'd like to disable. It will turn from green to grey.
Click Turn off.
Kraken App:
Tap your profile picture in the top-left corner.
Tap Earn Settings.
Under the Auto Earn section, tap any Auto Earn program toggle to turn it off. It will turn from green to grey.
Tap Turn off.
Kraken Pro App:
Tap the More button in the bottom-right corner.
Tap your Name at the top of the page.
Tap Earn under the Settings section.
Under the Auto Earn section, tap any Auto Earn program toggle to turn it off. It will turn from green to grey.
Tap Turn off.
You can turn Rewards back on at any time!
Auto Earn:
The Auto Earn feature is accessed on the Kraken interface.
One button to turn on Auto Earn on all eligible assets in your account.
Retains instant access to all assets to trade (including Spot and Margin on Kraken Pro) and withdraw.
Flexible Staking:
The Flexible Staking feature is only available on Kraken Pro.
Need to specifically select the assets that wants to be enrolled, instead of instant access to all assets eligible to earn
Staking
There are currently no transaction fees for Auto Earn staking or unstaking. However, Kraken charges a commission on rewards you receive from the network. The commission rate is based on your region:

The APY shown are an estimate of the rewards you could receive on the assets you hold, before our commission, and are based on the average staking rewards accrued over past periods. In cases where we are subject to validator commissions, the APY shown are after such commissions.
Opt-In Rewards
There are currently no fees for allocating assets to Opt-In Rewards programs.
Rewards are generated by allocating your eligible spot balances to our Opt-In Rewards programs.

Participating in Auto Earn staking is not a risk-free endeavor. Individuals should be aware of the following risks.
Potential lockup period
While your crypto assets are earning, they may be subject to an unbonding period. However, while your crypto assets are allocated to Auto Earn, you will have the ability to withdraw your crypto assets prior to the end of an unbonding period, subject to limited circumstances as described further below.
Penalty protection
Some networks might incur penalties when validators make errors. At Kraken, we will reimburse you if that happens, except for some very rare cases.
Rewards payout
The rewards rates shown are an estimate of the rewards you could earn on the assets you hold, before our commission, and are based on the average staking rewards accrued over the past period. Staking rewards are subject to discretion and not guaranteed, and past rewards are not indicative of expected future rewards. Since only a portion of the total crypto assets in the pool will be staked, the maximum amount of rewards that you can earn by participating in Auto Earn is fifty per cent (50%) of rewards you would have received if you staked the same assets under Bonded Staking.

Pool of Assets
If you elect to participate in Auto Earn, your crypto assets allocated to Auto Earn will be allocated to a pool with the assets of other clients participating in Auto Earn.
Portion of Assets Staked
Kraken will determine in its sole discretion what portion of the crypto assets in the pool will be staked and such proportion will not exceed a maximum of fifty per cent (50%) of the pool, measured at the time of the determination and rebalanced weekly.
Portion of Assets Not Staked
The portion of the crypto assets in the pool that is not staked will be used to facilitate the sale or withdrawal of crypto assets prior to the expiry of a lockup period by other clients participating in Auto Earn.
Immediate withdrawal may not be possible in limited circumstances
A portion of the crypto assets held in the pool will be staked onchain by Kraken and subject to a lockup period, so although participation in Auto Earn is intended to allow you to withdraw or trade your crypto assets prior to the end of a lockup period, there may be circumstances in which liquidity will not be available and you will not be able to withdraw or trade your crypto assets prior to the end of the lockup period for that crypto asset.
