Memo for Pi (PI) deposits

Last updated: 27. 3. 2026

Kraken supports both standard and muxed address formats for Pi (PI) deposits.

If you use a muxed address, a Memo is not required.

The muxed address already contains the information needed to correctly route your deposit to your account. If you use a standard address, a Memo is required.

Please note:

If you do not use a muxed address, please follow the instructions below:

When you generate a Pi (PI) deposit address for your Kraken account, a unique Memo is also created. This Memo is an additional piece of information that must be included when sending your deposit.

On Kraken, the Memo is used to determine which account the transaction should be credited to. This is because multiple accounts may share the same base deposit address.

The Memo is a numeric identifier and may vary in length depending on your account.

An example Memo is: 1234567890123456789

Always ensure you include the correct Memo before sending your PI deposit. Missing or incorrect Memo details can result in delays, and in some cases, the funds may not be recoverable.

If you forgot to include the Memo, please submit a support ticket.
