If you are creating a wallet for the first time, or wish to create a new wallet with a new Secret Recovery Phrase (SRP), please visit: Create a wallet on Kraken Wallet.
This guide is most relevant to the following scenarios:
During the Create wallet process, you did not back up your wallet by saving your Secret Recovery Phrase (SRP).
You have lost or misplaced your SRP but still have access to your Kraken Wallet.
Open your Kraken Wallet app and navigate to Settings.
If you have not previously backed up your wallet, you will see a red warning message.
Tap the Back up button to get started. (If this does not apply to you, proceed to the step 3).

If you previously backed up your wallet, but wish to view your SRP, tap on Manage wallets.
Tap the screen to reveal your 12-24 word SRP.

Write down your SRP and store it in a safe and secure location. Be sure to write down your SRP exactly as it's displayed, with the correct numbering and spelling.
For best security practices, consider manually writing down your SRP on a physical object such as a piece of paper (which you can laminate and keep in a fireproof safe or safety deposit box) or a metal solution such as Cryptosteel or Blockplate.
Important: Do not take a screenshot of your SRP, nor email or text it to yourself, or generally store it anywhere on your device unless storing in an encrypted password manager.
Once you have saved your SRP in a secure location, tap Next.
Verify your SRP. You will see the 12-24 words from your SRP displayed on the screen; tap the words in the correct numerical order, then tap Verify.
IMPORTANT: Your Secret Recovery Phrase is like a master key for your wallet. It is crucial that you keep your SRP safe from others, while ensuring that you can access it if needed.
If you lose your SRP and can't access your Kraken Wallet, then there is no way to recover your wallet -your assets are gone forever.
If anyone obtains your SRP, they will have complete and total access to your wallet. Kraken Wallet will never ask you for your SRP. If anyone asks you for your SRP, you should assume it's a scam.
If you have misplaced/lost your SRP but still have access to your Kraken Wallet, please back up your wallet IMMEDIATELY. You can find your SRP by navigating to your Kraken Wallet settings and tapping Manage Wallets.
