How to place a trade on Kraken Pro from TradingView

You can start an order in a few ways, all from the chart:

Before you send an order, it appears on the chart as a preview line. You can drag that line to change the price, and any change is mirrored in the order ticket. Depending on your settings, orders are placed either after a confirmation step or instantly. You can switch between confirmed and instant order placement in the trading panel settings.

Through TradingView, Kraken Pro supports these order types:

• Market
• Limit
• Stop
• Stop limit

Time in force options include good till canceled (GTC), immediate or cancel (IOC), and good till date (GTD). Post only and reduce only settings are also available.

Spot margin is supported through the leverage selector in the order ticket. For order types that are not offered through TradingView, such as trailing stop or conditional orders, trade directly on Kraken Pro.

Your order then appears in the account manager at the bottom of the screen. Filled orders show under Positions, and working orders show under Orders.

You can attach a take profit, a stop loss, or both to an order. These are sometimes called bracket orders. A take profit closes your position once the price reaches a level you choose in profit, and a stop loss closes it if the price moves against you, which helps limit losses.

To add them, open the order ticket and set your take profit and stop loss levels by price. When your entry order fills, the take profit and stop loss become active. You can also adjust either level afterward by dragging its line on the chart, or by editing the order in the panel.

The Depth of Market, or DOM, is a live view of the order book. It lists the resting buy and sell orders at each price, which gives you a sense of the supply, demand, and liquidity for a pair.

To open it, click Trade in the trading panel, then select the DOM tab next to the Order tab. The DOM shows the depth of market for whichever pair is on your chart. If no data appears, that pair may not be available to trade through the integration.

You can place orders straight from the DOM:

• Market order: Use the buy or sell market buttons at the top of the ladder.
• Limit order: Click the price cell at the level you want, on the buy side to buy or the sell side to sell.
• Stop order: Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) and click the price cell. You can also right-click a cell to choose the order type.

To change an order, drag it to a new price or click it and update the details. To cancel, click the cross next to an order, or use the cancel-all controls to clear every order on the pair.

Your open position size and profit or loss show at the bottom of the DOM. Use Flatten to close the position and Reverse to switch it to the opposite side.

After placing an order, you can manage everything from the chart or the account manager:

• Modify an order: From the Brokers panel, go to the Orders section, then select the pencil icon to the right of your order entry.
• Cancel an order: From the Brokers panel, go to the Orders section, then select the X icon to the right of your order entry.
• Close a position: Close it from the Positions tab of the Brokers panel, or use Flatten in the DOM.

Changes you make on the chart and in the order ticket stay in sync.

Trading fees are identical whether you trade on Kraken Pro or through TradingView, and there is no extra charge for using TradingView as your interface. Your 30-day volume across both counts toward the same fee tier. See Fees for trading via TradingView.
