Verification levels explained

Kraken

Your verification level determines what you can do with your Kraken account. Kraken offers two verification levels for personal accounts, Intermediate and Pro Personal account. For a majority of accounts, Intermediate will be more than sufficient. Although, the Pro Personal level would cater more to high-volume traders, or clients who need higher funding limits.

Business accounts are available if you would like to trade for business purposes or on behalf of a business entity.

Which verification level is right for me?

The Intermediate account is the first verification level, which allows you to access all essential account functions. When you are verified with an Intermediate account, you can buy and sell crypto, deposit cash and crypto, margin trade, and much more. The Intermediate level is best for a vast majority of clients.

You can see your specific verification level on the Kraken Pro interface, under Settings > Account > Account details.

A Personal account with Pro limits is the highest verification level available and includes the following benefits:

Note: You do not need a Personal account with Pro limits to use Kraken Pro web or app.

Business account verification is required for businesses and institutions. Business accounts may also be useful for clients that require higher API key limits, for building integrations with their account.

We always strive to provide a swift verification process, typically, Intermediate verifications take less than 30 minutes. If your application requires manual review, the verification process may take longer.
