How to create, import, or edit a custom theme on Kraken Desktop
Kraken Desktop is currently in a private beta. If you have been granted early access, you would have received an email invitation. If you haven’t received an email, you can join our waitlist here.

The Kraken Desktop app can be personalized with one of our 20 preloaded themes, you may also create your own custom theme, or import themes created by others.
These actions can be done via the Theme Management settings, which are accessed by clicking the colorful Theme Management button in the top right corner of the screen.

Setting a pre-loaded theme

    To set a preloaded Kraken Desktop theme, first click the Theme Management button in the top right corner.

    The Theme Management settings will now appear on your right hand side, under Themes you will see the full list of preloaded Kraken Desktop themes. Simply click on the theme of your choice, and the application will automatically update.
Tip: On the left of each listed theme, you will see a preview of the colors the theme consists of.
Creating a custom theme

    To create a custom theme on Kraken Desktop, first click the Theme Management button in the top right corner.

    Under Custom Themes, you will see the “Create custom theme” button. Click this to open the custom theme panel.

    Once the custom theme panel is open, you’ll first want to name your new theme.

    After naming your theme, you may now choose your color options for the 7 primary visuals of Kraken Desktop, these include:
    Name
    Description
    Background
    The background of Kraken Desktop, on all pages.
    Text
    All text displayed on Kraken Desktop, including modules, indicators, and settings.
    Action
    The highlight color surrounding the currently selected module.
    Warning
    The color of any pop-up warnings.
    Analysis Line
    Used in some modules, the analysis line separates positives and negatives. For example, the Depth Chart module uses an analysis line to visually separate buy and sell orders.
    Positive
    The color of any 'positive' objects within the theme. This includes candlesticks with higher closes than opens, indicators that increase in value, buy orders in the order book, and more.
    Negative
    The color of any 'negative' objects within the theme. This includes candlesticks with lower closes than opens, indicators that decrease in value, sell orders in the order book, and more.

    Start choosing your colors for each visual by either clicking the color palette and selecting the color from the color wheel, or entering the color’s hexadecimal code to the right side of the color palette. You can then adjust the hue, saturation, and value of the color.
    These changes will immediately reflect on your screen as you adjust them, and you can always revert your changes using the “Revert color” button located to the right of the hexadecimal value of the color.

    Once you are happy with your custom theme settings, click the Save button located at the top of the Create Theme sidebar.
    Your saved custom themes will then be listed under the Custom Themes section of the Theme Management settings.

How to import a theme

    First, click the Theme Management button in the top right corner of the screen.

    Under the Custom Themes section, click the Import Theme button located to the right side.

    Paste the Theme definition, then click the Import button. (Checkmark)
How to edit or delete a custom theme

    Click the Theme Management button in the top right corner.

    Make sure the theme you’d like to edit is set as the Current Theme by selecting it in your Custom Themes list.

    To edit the theme, click the pencil icon under the theme name.
    To delete the theme, click the trash can icon under the theme name.
