If you require a letter containing specific information regarding your account, please submit a request here. Our specialists will review your request, and assist via email.

Important: Ensure all funds have been removed from your account before proceeding with the closure.

Closing your account

Follow the steps below based on your interface:

Kraken App

1.
Tap on your Account in the top left corner and then tap on Account details.
2.
You will see Close account at the bottom of your account details screen, tap on this. You will need to review the important information shown on your screen. If you agree to this, tap continue.
3.
Tap on the reason(s) why you are deciding to close your Kraken account. Then tap continue once you're ready to proceed.
4.
If you are ready to close your account and be logged out of all devices, tap yes, close my account.

Kraken Web

Currently, you cannot close your account through Kraken Web, but this feature is coming soon. In the meantime, you can close your account via the Kraken App, Kraken Pro or Kraken Pro Web.

Kraken Pro App

1.
Tap on your Account in the top right corner and then tap on Account details.
2.
You will see Close account at the bottom of your account details screen, tap on this.
3.
Tap on the reason(s) why you are deciding to close your Kraken account. Then tap continue once you're ready to proceed.
4.
If you are ready to close your account and be logged out of all devices, tap yes, close my account.

Kraken Pro Web

1.
Click on your Account in the top right corner and then click on Settings.
2.
Scroll to the bottom to see Close account. You will need to review the important information shown on your screen. If you agree to this, tap continue.
3.
Tap on the reason(s) why you are deciding to close your Kraken account. Then tap continue once you're ready to proceed.
4.
If you are ready to close your account and be logged out of all devices, tap yes, close my account.

Difficulty getting verified

If you are having difficulty with the verification process review the steps below.

1.
After creating your Kraken account follow our step-by-step guide to help you verify your account.
2.
If you are verifying your account to Intermediate level or higher you will be required to provide additional documentation such as a: Proof of Address document, Government-issued photo ID , or Face Photo (South African and US clients). Ensure you are uploading the correct documentation to help speed up the verification process.
3.
Before you apply for an Intermediate or Pro level account check our geographic restrictions to ensure you have access to our services.

If you are still facing issues with the verification process, chat directly with one of our Support specialists by clicking the Help button in the bottom right corner of your screen.

Account sign-in issues

If you are having trouble signing into your account it could be because you are entering the wrong password, username or sign-in 2FA.Follow these steps to recover your sign-in credentials:

If the above instructions did not resolve the issue, please submit a Sign-in troubleshooting & Account security request so that our security team can investigate further.

Security concerns

If you are concerned about the security of your Kraken account there are a number of measures you can put in place to ensure account safety.
