Open a business account if you would like to trade on Kraken for business purposes or on behalf of a business entity and enjoy the following benefits:

Trading fees: Trading fees are the same for business and Personal accounts, but the discount schedules reward frequent and high-volume activity.
Funding requirements: JPY deposits and withdrawals can only be transferred to/from a business bank account registered under the same business name.
- Select “Create Account” in the upper righthand corner of the page.
- Click on “create a business account” at the bottom of the page.
- Fill out your new account details, and click on the “Create account” button.
- Once your account is set up, be sure to secure your account by adding at least one form of Sign-In Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
- Next, find your name in the upper right corner of the page, and then select “Get Verified”.
- Select “Verify” under Pro (Account features and limits) to access the application form.
- You can save your application if you would like to return to it later. To access it later, simply go back to the “Get Verified” section by first navigating to your name in the upper-right corner of the page.
- Fill out the required information in each section.
- Once you have completed a section, you will see a purple checkmark next to the section title, which indicates that the section is complete. Only once you have completed all of the sections of the application will you be able to submit your application.
- Once you have entered all of the required information and included the necessary documentation, hit “Submit”.
What business documents will be required?
- Corporate formation documents
- Company share registry
- Organizational chart displaying ownership structure, if your business entity is owned by another entity
- The following documents for each Account Accessor and UBO (Ultimate Beneficial Owner)
- One item from ID documents listed below OR
- One item from ID documents listed below and one item from supplemental documents listed below
ID documents
- Drivers license
- Passport
- My Number Card
- Residence Card (Zairyu Card) - Please submit this, if you have one.
- Special Permanent resident Certificate - Please submit this, if you have one.
Supplemental documents - A supplemental document must display its issuer, issue date, your name and your address. The issue date can not be more than three months old.
- Residence certificate
- Receipt (not a bill) of utility bill payment such as electricity, gas, water, landline phone, and NHK. Receipt of cell phone and Internet service bill payments are not accepted.
- Receipt of tax payment
- Receipt of social insurance

Beneficial ownership requirements:
In addition to the required documents, you will also be asked to provide ownership information:
- For any individuals that own 25% or more equity, shares or voting rights of the business entity.
- For any individuals that maintain significant managerial control, including individual(s) who directly or indirectly holds the rights to appoint or remove a majority of the board, and/or overall operations over the business entity (CEO, CFO, Owner, or equivalent position).
- For any individuals that are the trustee of a trust or the members of a firm that exercise significant control over the company.
