This article is for clients using the Kraken Pro interface (pro.kraken.com)
Which Kraken interface am I on?
The process for removing a Global Settings Lock (GSL) from your account will depend on whether you have a Master Key — and if so, whether you remember it or not. GSL removal must take place on Kraken Pro, if you are on Kraken, use the product switcher in the top right corner to switch to Kraken Pro.
If you have a Master Key AND remember it:
- 2.Click on the profile icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
- 3.A banner will be displayed at the top of your user settings page. Click Deactivate GSL on the right side of the banner.
- 4.Finally, click Unlock now, then use your Master Key to remove the GSL immediately.
If you don't have a Master Key OR don't remember it:
- 2.Click on the profile icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
- 3.A banner will be displayed at the top of your user settings page. Click Deactivate GSL on the right side of the banner.
- 4.This will begin the removal timer and give you the option to unlock the GSL immediately by entering your Master Key. The amount of time left, and the exact time of removal are displayed for your convenience.
It is not possible for us to expedite this wait time.
There is no way to add a new Master Key while a GSL is active.
There is also no way to change an existing Master Key while a GSL is active, but if you find or remember your lost Master Key, you can go back to the user settings page and enter it.

Special Case: GSLs set to 0 Days
In the past it may have been possible for you to set the GSL to 0 days. If your account still has the 0 day option selected, we recommend reviewing how this feature works and updating this setting to one or more days. If you are having trouble removing or changing your GSL from the 0 day setting submit a Account security request for further assistance.
Please note that the process of removing the GSL takes a considerable amount of time in order to make sure your account is safe.
Our Support team cannot help if your GSL was set to one or more days.
