Why did I not receive my full deposit amount?
Prevent deposit delays
If required and shown in the deposit instructions, make sure your deposit includes a reference to your Kraken Public account ID which starts with AA and is 16 characters long.
Sometimes the amount sent from your bank and what we receive is different.
This can happen due to intermediary or correspondent banks (banks between your bank and our bank account) charging fees or even exchanging the funds en route to a different currency because the destination country uses a different currency than the transaction currency.
To prevent this from happening, we highly recommend you ask your bank to determine the best (and cheapest) route for the transfer. You can also specifically ask your bank to include a message with the transaction that states any corresponding or intermediary bank should not exchange or convert into a different currency en route.
Kraken will only charge the deposit fee (if any) that is shown on our Deposit Options page. Any additional fees charged for deposits are outside of Kraken's control.
