You should not participate in an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) or token sale directly from your Kraken account (we are not a wallet service).
In an ICO / token sale, tokens are assigned to the address the funds were sent from.
Kraken uses a combination of cold storage and a hot wallet, like many digital asset exchanges, so your sending address for a digital asset will not be the same as your deposit address.
If you're depositing into an ICO / token sale address, Kraken's hot wallet will be the depositor and not your personal Kraken deposit address.
As such, you will not have control over the tokens sent to this address and we will have no way of knowing that those tokens belong to you. Furthermore, our platform does not support the vast majority of tokens.
Thus, recovering tokens from an ICO / token sale that have been assigned to a Kraken withdrawal addresses is not possible.
Instead, we recommend that you participate in any ICO / token sale from a wallet to which you control the private keys.
We will not be able to credit your account with any tokens sent to one of our addresses unless the funds are sent to a deposit address specific to that token. Please see this list of digital currencies we support.
