Recurring ACH Deposits

Recurring ACH deposits move a fixed amount from your linked US bank account to your Kraken balance on a schedule you choose. Nothing is bought when a deposit arrives. The money is added to your balance.

ACH is the US bank-to-bank transfer network. You link your bank account through Plaid, the service Kraken uses to connect to your bank.

How to set up a recurring deposit

  1. 1

Open Add money and enter an amount.

  2. 2

Change the frequency from One time to Daily, Weekly, Every 2 weeks or Monthly, then choose a start date.

  3. 3

Select your linked bank account. If your Plaid link has expired, reconnect it first. See How do I fund my account with USD using ACH via Plaid?

  4. 4

Review and accept the standing authorization, then confirm. This is your permission for Kraken to take the amount from your linked bank account on each scheduled date.

On each scheduled date, Kraken pulls the amount you chose from your linked bank account into your balance. You get an email and a push notification each time a deposit is created, paused, succeeds or fails.

Manage your schedule

You can edit, pause, resume, rename or cancel a schedule at any time by going to the Orders item in the Portfolio tab. Your schedule view shows your next deposit date, the total deposited so far and your recent deposits.

FAQs

No. Kraken doesn’t charge a fee for recurring deposits, and that applies to every deposit in your schedule, not just the first. Your bank may charge its own fees, for example if a deposit fails because there isn’t enough money in your account.

You can invest each deposit as soon as it arrives in your balance. Each deposit can be withdrawn seven days after it arrives, so if you deposit daily or weekly, your most recent deposits will be on hold while earlier ones become available.

The minimum deposit is $1. Your deposit limits are set automatically based on factors such as your account history and activity. They apply on a rolling weekly basis and can’t be increased on request. There’s also a limit on how many deposits can go through in a rolling 24-hour period. Each deposit is taken on its scheduled date and usually arrives in your balance within five minutes.
