Accounts

Accounts are the operating units of your Organization. Each account holds its own balances, open orders, and history, what happens in one account stays in that account. This article covers adding, disabling, and deleting accounts, and working safely when your team operates many accounts at once. For who can perform these actions, see Roles, profiles, and permissions.

Every account in your Organization is segregated:

  • Balances belong to one account. Funds move between accounts only through a transfer request. See Transfers and withdrawals.
  • Orders and trade history belong to the account they were placed on.
  • Access is granted per account. A Member with trading permissions on one account has no automatic access to other accounts.

When an Organization is created, it has only one main account, which carries your original balances. You open additional accounts as your operating structure requires, one per desk, strategy, or function, in whatever shape fits how your firm runs. An Organization currently supports up to 100 accounts, including the main account; if your operations need more, contact Support to discuss raising the limit.

Note:

The main account supports spot and margin trading for Members. Additional accounts currently support spot trading only. See Availability and limitations.

Account management is a governed operation under the Manage Accounts workflow. Depending on that workflow’s policy, lifecycle changes complete immediately or require approval, following the same model as every other governed operation. See Policies, approvals, and governance.

Action

What it does

Add

Opens a new account. It appears immediately in administration, access assignment, and the account switcher.

Edit

Renames an account so its purpose is clear to the whole team.

Disable

Freezes the account immediately: everything in it stays as it is, but all operations on it are blocked.

Enable

Restores a disabled account to normal operation, exactly as it was.

Delete

Archives and hides an account from end-user operating pages once it holds no funds or open activity (see below).

Disable is built as an emergency lever: the freeze takes effect immediately with whatever the account holds at that moment.

  • Everything in the account stays put. Balances, open orders, and positions are untouched, the system does not cancel, close, or unwind anything on your behalf.
  • The account is fully inert while disabled. No trading, no fund movement, no Earn activity, for any Member, regardless of permissions. There is no partial mode for winding down open positions on a disabled account; to act on them, re-enable the account first.
  • Incoming deposits are still credited. Funds arriving at a disabled account land in it normally; they are held there until the account is re-enabled.
  • Access configuration is preserved. Account Roles keep their grants on a disabled account, the grants simply have no effect until the account is re-enabled. Disabled accounts stay visible in access management and account administration, marked with their status, so role edits never silently drop them. However, a Member won’t be able to select a disabled account through the account switcher.

Deleting an account archives its record and removes it from end-user operating pages. A deleted account cannot be reopened, therefore before proceeding make sure it has:

  • Zero balance across all assets
  • No open positions
  • No open orders
  • No pending transactions
  • No active flexible or bonded Earn allocations

If any of the above prerequisites aren’t satisfied, the account deletion flow will guide you to resolve remaining balances, staked assets, or open orders. Resolving each blocker is a manual step by design: the system never auto-cancels orders, auto-moves funds, or auto-unwinds products to force a deletion. This keeps every fund movement explicit and traceable.

Tip:

A typical deletion sequence: cancel open orders, deallocate from Earn, transfer the remaining balance to another account, then delete.

Note:

If you have an Earn bonded allocation generating rewards, you will need to unstake it first and wait for the unstaking period to elapse.

Like every Manage Accounts action, deletion runs as a request. While the request is pending approval, it can be canceled like any other request. Once it completes, the account is permanently archived.

After deletion:

  • The account is archived, not erased. Its history, trades, ledger entries, requests and security events remain available for audit.
  • The account disappears from operating and access pages. It no longer appears in the account switcher, role configuration, or Member views.
  • A deposit that lands on a deleted account is credited to your Organization’s main account. Funds sent to a deleted account’s addresses are never lost.

The interface is built to keep account context unambiguous, because the most common mistake in a multi-account operation is acting on the wrong account.

  • The active account is always visible. Trading, balance, and funding pages show which account you are operating on, prominently and at all times.
  • Starting from an account row carries that account with you. From the Accounts list you can start a withdrawal or transfer directly from a specific account’s row. The clicked account is preselected as the source and stays visible through review and submission. See Transfers and withdrawals.

Troubleshooting

The account still has state attached. Check the blockers shown in the deletion flow: remaining balances, open positions, open orders, pending transactions, or active Earn allocations all prevent deletion. Resolve each item, then try again. The system never resolves blockers automatically.

That is expected. Disabling an account freezes activity but preserves everything in it. Balances, open orders, positions, and history remain visible to Members with access; all operations are blocked until the account is re-enabled.

A disabled account is fully inert, orders on it cannot be canceled or closed while it stays disabled, by any Member. Re-enable the account, act on the orders or positions, and disable it again if needed. Re-enabling is a Manage Accounts action and follows that workflow’s policy.

Those funds are safe. A deposit arriving at a deleted account is credited to your Organization’s main account, and it will be visible on the main account’s ledger. Deposits arriving at a disabled account are credited to that account and held there until it is re-enabled.

The Manage Accounts workflow may have a policy requiring approval. Your request is in the approval queue and completes once the required Members approve it. Check the Requests page for its status.
