You can now fund your Kraken account by moving crypto directly from another exchange or wallet, without copying and pasting a deposit address. This option is powered by our partner, Mesh.
When you deposit crypto the traditional way, you copy a deposit address from Kraken and paste it into the platform you are sending from.
You can connect a supported exchange account or self-custody wallet from inside Kraken without copying and pasting your deposit address. You choose what to send and approve the transfer. The crypto is then sent on-chain to your Kraken deposit address and credited to your balance like any other crypto deposit.
For exchanges, Mesh facilitates the connection, including login and any required security checks. Kraken never sees or stores your password for the other platform. For self-custody wallets, you approve the connection and sign the transaction in your wallet.

Availability depends on your location, the asset and network you choose, and the exchange or wallet you send from.
The list of available platforms continues to grow over time. If your exchange is not listed, you can still deposit crypto using a standard wallet-address deposit.
Sign in to your Kraken account and go to Deposit (funding).
Select crypto, then choose the asset and network you want to deposit.
At the Deposit from screen, select Connect to another exchange or wallet.
In the secure Mesh window, select the exchange or wallet you want to send from.
For an exchange, sign in to that account. Some platforms open their own login window for security; this is expected.
For a self-custody wallet, connect the wallet and approve the connection in your wallet app or browser.
Choose the amount to deposit and review the details. If you do not hold enough of the selected token, Mesh can top up the difference from your other balances on that exchange or wallet (see SmartFunding in the FAQ below).
Confirm the transfer. If you are sending from a self-custody wallet, you sign the transaction in your wallet. The crypto is sent on-chain to your Kraken deposit address.
You will see a confirmation that the transfer has started. You can close the window, the deposit continues in the background.
The deposit arrives as a normal on-chain transfer and is credited once it has the required number of network confirmations, the same as any other crypto deposit on that network. You can track it in your Kraken deposit history.
Kraken does not charge a fee to deposit crypto.
The exchange or wallet you send from may charge its own withdrawal and/or network (gas) fee. That fee is set by that platform, not by Kraken.
If you close the window or cancel, no transfer is started and no funds move.
If the connection to the other exchange or wallet fails, you can deposit using a standard wallet-address deposit instead.
Any deposit below the minimum amount set for that network will not be credited. Make sure you send at or above the displayed minimum.
If a deposit does not arrive as expected, contact Kraken Support with the asset, network, amount, and the source exchange or wallet.
Yes. For an exchange, the connection works on the same model as services like Plaid: Mesh handles the secure login to the other platform, and your credentials for that platform are never shared with Kraken.
For a self-custody wallet, you connect the wallet itself and approve each transfer in the wallet. Your seed phrase and private keys are never shared with Kraken or with Mesh.
Most major assets and stablecoins on their main networks are supported (for example BTC, ETH, SOL, USDT and USDC on their primary chains). The exact assets available depend on the exchange or wallet you connect from, the network you choose, and your location.
Thanks to SmartFunding you can still deposit the full amount you want. If your balance of the chosen token on the connected exchange or wallet is not enough, Mesh can automatically convert some of your other holdings on that exchange or wallet into the token you are depositing, so you can send the full amount in one step.
For example, if you want to deposit 10,000 USDC but only hold 7,000 USDC, Mesh can sell around 3,000 USD worth of your other assets on that exchange or wallet to make up the difference. The conversion happens on the connected exchange or wallet, so trading, swap or network fees may apply.
You authorize the transfer inside the Kraken flow. On an exchange, you may need to complete that platform's normal login and security checks. From a self-custody wallet, you approve and sign the transfer in your wallet.
