Chart Trading allows you to place and manage orders directly from the Chart module, enhancing your trading efficiency and visual clarity. Follow these steps to learn how to place, edit, and manage orders using the Chart module on Kraken Desktop.

On Kraken Desktop, you can submit or edit any type of order directly from the Chart module. This feature is enabled by default but can be turned off in the Chart module settings if desired.

    On the Chart module, hover your mouse at the price level you'd like to place an order. You'll notice a (+) icon next to the price axis on the right side. Clicking the + button will initiate your order at this exact price point.

    After you've clicked the +, you'll see the chart trading pop-up. Here, you can enter the quantity for the order, and toggle margin on or off.

    Clicking the three dots on the left side opens a percentage slider. This slider allows you to select a percentage of your spot balance to spend. (Or available margin, if margin is enabled)

    After inputting the details of your order, click the green/red button on the right to submit the order. That's it, your open order will now be displayed on the chart!

    (Optional) Take Profit and Stop Loss orders may also be set after you've submitted your order. To begin, simply hover over the open order on your chart.

    When hovering, you'll see TP and SL boxes. You can click and drag these boxes to your desired price level. The quantity will automatically match the original order.

    Be sure to click the checkmark to confirm your Take Profit or Stop Loss order.

You can optionally add Take Profit (TP) and Stop Loss (SL) levels after placing an order.

    Hover over your open order on the chart.

    You'll see TP and SL boxes appear.

    Drag these boxes to set your preferred TP and SL price levels. The quantity automatically matches your original order.

    Always confirm your selection by clicking the checkmark.

Orders placed through the Chart module can be adjusted directly from the chart.

    Click and drag your open order up or down to modify the price.

  2. 2

    Confirm your adjustments by clicking the checkmark.

Note:

You cannot adjust order quantity directly from the chart. To change order quantity, cancel and resubmit your order or edit it via the Open Orders tab in the Trade Activity module.
