Open a business account if you would like to trade for business purposes or on behalf of a business entity. With a business account you will enjoy the following benefits:

How to apply:

    Next, click on the Business tab. Then, fill out your new account details, and click on the Create account button.

    To continue, accept the new Terms of Service.

    You will then be prompted to add a new two factor-authentication method. Click here for steps on how to do so.

    Next you will be required to fill in your business information. This is to check the information associated with your account is up-to-date.

    Update your Business registration information and upload your corporate documents. Visit this article for all the information you need on the documents required.

    After submitting your business documents you will need to provide additional information about your business and complete the KYC and AML questionnaire (2-3 minutes).

    Finally, please submit the Account opener information. For this we require one valid form of ID (Passport or National ID Card).

    That’s it! Please allow approximately five days for our team to review your application.

A business account is designed for those who would like to trade for business purposes or on behalf of a business entity. If you would like to fund your account from your business bank account, or a business crypto wallet, then a business account could be right for you. Bank deposits and withdrawals can only be transferred to and from a business bank account registered under the business name and not in your personal name.

Trading fees: Trading fees are the same for Business and Personal accounts, but our discount schedules reward frequent and high-volume activity.

Funding requirements: Bank deposits and withdrawals can only be transferred to/from a business bank account registered under the same business name.

Crypto deposits and withdrawals may only come from or go to external wallets possessed by your business. Crypto funding should not involve a third party. (ex. business client wallets).

Yes, you can open an account if you do business under a DBA or trade name. During the application process you will have an opportunity to supply your company's registered name along with your DBA or trade name. When submitting the required documentation, please also include legal documents that allow you to operate under your DBA or trade name.

Required documents and information:

To verify your business account, you will be required to submit general business information (i.e. name of the entity, registration number, registration date, registered and operating address) as well as the following documents:

Please note that corporate documentation may vary significantly depending on the country of incorporation. To ensure that you submit the right documents, please reference the information provided below. Additional documentation may be requested during the application process.

In addition to the required business documents, you will also be asked to provide personal identifiable information (i.e. name, address, email address, phone number, SSN) and personal verification documents for:

    Any individuals that maintain significant managerial control, including any individual who directly or indirectly holds the rights to appoint or remove a majority of the board or overall operations over the business entity (CEO, CFO, Owner or equivalent position).

    Any individuals that are the trustee, beneficiaries, settlor / protector (as applicable) of a trust or the members of a firm that exercise significant control over the company.

    Any individuals who will access the account.

A valid Corporate Formation Document is a key piece of documentation that was issued upon the successful registration of your company with the regulatory body in the country of registration.

A valid Share Registry document displays full shareholder structure and is issued by a regulatory body. Depending on the type of business, it could be a corporate document displaying full ownership of the shares issued by the company or it may mention a sole member / sole proprietorship and show the name of the owner.

A valid Proof of Business Operating Address (POBOA) document contains the legal name and the physical address of the company (i.e. the place where the day-to-day business takes place) and is dated less than three months from the date of submission. We do not accept P.O. Box addresses from any country.

POBOA documents include:

  • Business bank statement

  • Credit card statement

  • Lease agreement

  • Utility bill

  • Registered lease/rent document 

  • Property ownership title deed registered in the name of the institution, duly stamped and signed

To operate as a trading platform, we are required to ask for key documents and information from our clients. We must keep these documents on file for each of our clients that opens a business account in order to comply with these regulations.

Reselling Services include any type of service where a business offers to buy and sell cryptocurrencies on behalf of any 3rd party.

We are required to know the source of any funds that are added to a business account at Kraken. The SOF indicates how the funds were originally generated.

No, you cannot transfer funds between your business and personal accounts.

If you have a personal account that has already been verified, you may be able to convert it to a business account if you have no transaction history on the account. To request an account conversion, please submit a request to our Support team.

If you mistakenly applied for the wrong account type (i.e. you applied for a personal account but would like to apply for a business account instead, or vice-versa) you may be able to convert your account to the correct type if you have no transaction history on the account.
