Step Finance (STEP) Delisting

STEP Finance announced that it was ceasing operations. Because the STEP network could shut down at any time, potentially before the dates listed below, Kraken might not have been able to liquidate or recover any remaining STEP balances once the network went offline. We strongly recommended that clients review their balances and take action before STEP shut down.

March 20 at 2pm UTC: Deposits and markets were disabled

June 18 at 2pm UTC: Withdrawals were disabled for EEA clients
•
June 19 - June 29: Remaining balances were liquidated

Clients holding STEP were encouraged to withdraw or convert their holdings before the liquidation date.

STEP had extremely limited or inactive markets. As a result, liquidation prices may have been significantly below recent reference prices and, in some cases, may have resulted in minimal or no proceeds due to insufficient market liquidity at the time of execution.
