Master Key as a Sign-in Method

If you enabled a Master Key, you can use the Master Key as a Sign-in 2FA method to access your account.

How to use your Master Key as a Sign-in 2FA method:

    Navigate to kraken.com. Enter your email or username and password. Click Sign in.

    A new page will show requesting your Sign-in 2FA. Click on Master Key.

    Follow the on-screen instructions according to the 2FA method configured for your Master Key — either a Passkey or authenticator app. Once completed, you should now be signed in to your account.

Note: If you use an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator:

  • Review Risks of using an Authenticator App and consider upgrading to Passkeys.
  • Always ensure you are entering the correct code e.g. Kraken.com Sign-in, or Kraken.com Master Key.
  • Check the time settings of the device you are using to sign in with are set to automatic.
