Kraken Prop Account States Explained

Every Kraken Prop account has a status that determines what you can do with it. Here's what each state means and what actions are available.

Your account is live and trading is enabled. This is the default state for both evaluation and funded accounts that are in good standing.

What you can do: Place and manage orders, open and close positions, view your portfolio and history.

Your evaluation account has reached the profit target. All positions have been automatically closed and trading is disabled on this account. A new funded account is being created for you.

What you can do: View your final metrics and trade history. You cannot place new trades on a passed evaluation account.

What happens next: You'll receive a notification prompting you to sign the Funded Trader Agreement and complete any additional verification if needed. Once both are complete and a manual review is finished, your funded account will be activated and you’ll receive an email. See Funded Account Activation Process for details.

Your funded account has been activated and trading is enabled. You are now trading with funded capital and are eligible to request payouts.

What you can do: Everything available in the Active state, plus request payouts of your profit share.

Your account has violated either the Maximum Daily Loss (MDL) or Maximum Drawdown (MDD) limit. All positions and pending orders were closed automatically at the time of breach.

What you can do: View your account metrics, trade history, and breach details (reason, timestamp, equity at breach). You cannot place new trades.

How long it's visible: Closed accounts remain in your account switcher for 7 days, then are removed.

What happens next: You can purchase a new evaluation at any time. There is no waiting period after a closure.
