How to transition to Unified EVM Deposit Methods: Technical overview for API users

As recently announced, we’re upgrading our Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) deposit setup to enhance our users' experience. This upgrade involves shifting from Smart Contract addresses to Standard EVM compatible addresses for deposits.
All Smart Contract deposit methods have now expired. Any deposits made to a Smart Contract address are at risk of being lost.
The drop down menu to select Smart Contract or Unified is no longer available as all deposit methods will now default to using the Unified method. Clients can continue to use the deposit addresses provided on the deposit page for each asset.
The new Unified deposit methods all share the same deposit address.
Example: If you generate a Kraken deposit address for USDT on Ethereum, the same address will become available for USDC and all other Unified deposit methods.
We strongly recommend you update any addresses you have on external platforms or wallets with the new Unified addresses before March 10th, 2024 and delete any Smart Contract addresses saved on external platforms in order to avoid deposits mistakenly being sent to an expired Smart Contract Deposit Method.
Deposits below the deposit minimums provided on each deposit method will fail. We strongly advise against sending deposits below the deposit minimum as these will not be credited. The Get Deposit Methods api endpoint can be used to get the most updated deposit minimums.
Transaction Flow: We've updated our deposit crediting flow to enhance clarity and efficiency. Now, deposits made using the Unified Methods will credit deposits with the Transaction ID corresponding to the transaction initiated by you, the client. This means the `txid` provided in the Get Deposit Status endpoint will return your transaction id, previously this field often provided the transaction ID for the transfer to our hot wallet, and clients would need to look at the `originators` field in the response to get the client initiated transaction id. This also means clients will no longer be charged an onchain sweeping fee for native assets.
API Response: Once the Smart Contract methods expire on March 10th, 2024, the Get Deposit Methods and Get Deposit Addresses will no longer provide results containing the Smart Contract Methods.
Note: Withdrawal methods on Kraken remain unchanged.

Beginning February 13th, Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Ethereum PoW (ETHW), Matic (MATIC), Energy Web Token (EWT), Avalanche (AVAX), Songbird (SGB), and Flare (FLR) will support the new deposit flow and will no longer support stackable deposits (deposits below the stated minimums). Additionally these assets will support the new deposit flow resulting in the sweeping fee no longer being charged Kraken clients.
